Mapleshadow sat on a rocky part of the hill that overlooked the forest. The temporary camp lay a few tail lengths behind her. She gazed out at the brown water that had spread across their home. A few browning trees struck out from the water, but other than that, everything she had known since she was a kite was fully underwater.

Laying under a sparse shrub, Cornfur gave his side quick, rough licks. The water that had overcome the forest had given his golden fur a brown tinge, and he had been trying desperately to bring it back its original glossy sheen.

(Also, Animals, I get you're trying to just stay true to the Warriors books, but please don't correct anyone's writing. We're just here to have fun and roleplay some cats )

(I do have that information, and like Digi said I understand trying to stay true to the books, but I also don't feel the need to cross out any words that aren't in Erin Hunter's vocabulary and stick to only Erin Hunter's rules in a fan-made roleplay. After all, the Erins have written things like "Ashfur shrugged" when in reality cats don't know what shrugging is, and even if they did, they still couldn't do it because they have no collarbones. Yes, obviously I know that cats irl don't know what bags and beauty sleep are, but if the Erins can bend the rules of reality in their books, I don't see why I can't bend them a little in a roleplay. Besides, like I said before, cats really can have bags under their eyes.)

"Are you alright?" Ripplestripe sat a fox-length or so away from Mapleshadow. He followed her gaze to their once beautiful home that was now hardly visible above the dark waters.
