Russettip watched Shadowkit closely as he dashed around the clearing, on his tiny jet-black paws.

Silently, Russettip stood up and padded to the prey pile. He selected the smallest mouse and carried it to his son.

Littlefoot sat in the medicine cat den asleep, with her back to the entrance.

Dustykit climbed a tree and became excited as he went up. This was living!

Dreamheart slept in her nest silently. Frostkit squeezed in and snuggled up next to her mother.

Hickorysmoke limped into camp with a mouse. His leg was slowly healing, not what it used to be, though.

Skyblaze and Cloudstorm talked together.

Foxfire fished in the river, eyes on the moving water.

Flowershine played in the long grass outside camp.

Moonember sat near Littlefoot, carefully watching over his best friend.

"Eating time!" Shadowkit exclaimed. The tiny kit started to tear into the mouse with his little teeth, while Russettip watched him with an amused purr.

Littlefoot's feet began to twitch. It was normal, but they grew more violent. Arrowheart shoved his sister. "Look at you! A useless warrior now! You are no use to the Clan anymore!" She got up and hissed, "I'm more of a warrior you'll ever be! I will defend and hunt for my Clan till I die!" The large black tom pinned her down. "The best warriors are the strongest. You'll never be one! You couldn't get one single rabbit!" He chuckled evilly, staring down at her.

Moonember looked alarmed. The small tom shook Littlefoot's flank to wake her. "Littlefoot! Littlefoot! Wake up!"
