Rookpaw sighed, letting his fur lie flat. Looking up at the sky, the apprentice had felt as if the hunting patrol was going to last forever. "Okay, I'll try again." He padded around cautiously, looking around for prey until he finally scented a recent smell of a bluebird. It should be just behind that bush,The male cat thought. He then spotted it, and pounced, landing square onto the bird's back. Rookpaw killed it quickly with a sharp bite to the neck. The tom raised his head, the blue colored prey dangling from his jaws. I have to stop thinking about Rosepaw. I need to move on and become a warrior,Rookpaw thought sadly, yet dismissively.
