Flintpaw

Flintpaw jumped as he heard a cackle nearby. He swiveled around to see Maplestar nearby, her eyes crazed and pelt bristling to make her look even more insane-like. He narrowed his eyes as he saw her stumble around. He wasn't afraid of her. No, he was creeped by her. Everytime his mentor would drag him over to her so they could hear the patrols, he would look away and mumble words under his breath. He slunk to Dawnheart and said in a hushed cough to the warrior, "here comes you know who."

Maplestar

Darkness clouded Maplestar's vision as black clouds began to storm across the sky in great thundering masses. It wasn't long before there wasn't a single patch of sky left to see. "Seriously?" She muttered as the clouds grew dense. Then, as if a switch had been flipped, great drops of rain began to descend and drench the earth with water. "Hear them . . . watch them come . . . gather the troops . . ." Maplestar shook her head. She wandered through the wet and cold (in actuality there wasn't a cloud in the sky) until she was just a few feet away from one of the clan members. The leader sat there for a moment, unblinking, before her eyes cleared a little and she recognized the member. "Oh, Flintpaw!" She greeted the apprentice cheerfully. "Wait, how long have you been standing there? Hmm, you should make some noise or something next time. Quite the rain, huh?" Maplestar gestured towards the sky, but still did not feel the bright beams of sun shining on her fur coat. "It's unfortunate we can't just cancel everything for today to stay dry. But the clan comes first! Why don't you go grab a friend and go patrolling? There's something hovering in the air . . . I can taste it . . ." She mumbled something else before smiling brightly and waited for a response.

Eagleheart looked over at Maplestar. "Are you alright Maplestar?" she mewed. "Wait... Did you say rain? It's bright and sunny." she questioned.

Flintpaw

Flintpaw raised an eyebrow as Maplestar sat in front of him, babbling on something about rain and then patrolling. It did rain, but it wasn't raining now. He listened to her curtly before he mewed slowly, "um... okay... then..." he twitched his tail-tip and his dark amber eyes were troubled as he looked at Eagleheart when he heard the warrior.

Eagleheart looked at Flintpaw and shrugged. "I'll come too." she mewed.

"Excellent." Her ears went back when she noticed the uncomfortable expression he wore, and she tilted her head slightly as she further examined him. "Is everything all right Flintpaw? You seem a bit tense. It's only a bit of rain - you've patrolled in worse. Just wait 'til it starts snowing!" Maplestar started to turn away when another voice sounded right next to her. Startled, she jumped and the fur on her back arched. But the face next to her belonged to Eagleheart. "Oh, Eagleheart. You scared me, dear! But have you eaten a bad mouse or something? Of course it's raining - why else would we be all wet? We haven't exactly all gone for a swim."

Eagleheart gave Maplestar a confused glance and figured that she should just leave the subject. "So hunting patrol or Border patrol?" she asked.

[The Fray]

Mintleaf growled under her breath, she had found no prey on her hunt. She slunk into camp with a heavy heart. She picked a fat rabbit from the pile and nibbled it warily.

Hawktalon stalked into camp his face showing no emotion. HIs eyes blazed with frustration.
