Ospreyfeather lazily swiped a paw at Smokefur. "Cheek." She mewed playfully, sitting down.

Flashfire purred, taking a small chaffinch from the pile. "What patrol are you going on?" He asked, taking a bite.

Larksong nodded, not wanting to press her any more. After a moment, he couldn't help but ask, "Where....?"

Sorrelpaw dashed off with a quick goodbye, heading over to Sootwhisker.

"I haven't been assigned to go on a patrol. I'm just going to be bored all day, I guess," Streampaw sighed. She flicked her fluffy tail in annoyance. Why hadn't she been assigned to a patrol? Was she not good enough?

Shaking her head, she mewed, "I despair to think what our kits would be like with you ask their father...." Purring, she brushed her head against his shoulder and looked thoughtfully at the fresh-kill pile.

Sorrelpaw tried to dodge, but ended up tripping over her paws onto Sootwhisker. Scrambling up again and licking her chest fur to hide her embarressment, she mewed, "SootwhiskercanIgoonpatrolwithyouJunerainsaidIcanandIwantedtogohuntingsoIwasjustwonderingisthat'sokaywithyou?" Her words tumbled out, and she took a deep breath and added, "Would that be alright...?"

Flashfire turned to Streampaw. "How are you today?" He asked, "Fine, I hope?" Turning to his chaffinch, he added, "Would you like to share with me? I'm not all that hungry...." After a moment's thought, he mewed, "Would you like to go hunting with me? I'm sure we can find something nice for the others...."

Larksong let out a purr of amusement, shaking his head. "Alrighty then...." He mewed, "Let's go up into the clouds and see if anything is worth the hunt....?"

[ Can Pale-eye and Larksong meet a fox/badger/stoat/somethin'? ]

Sootwhisker chuckled and nodded. "It'd be fine."

Pale-eye frowned as Larksong laughed, but sighed herself and tensed her shoulders. "I think perhaps we should go inspect the border while we're at it?"

Smokefur puffed out his chest. "They'll be kick-butt awesome."

"I'm fine, thanks. Oh, thank you, I'd love to share the chaffinch. Hunting? Sounds like fun," Streampaw purred happily. A small smile came to her face as she watched him.

(Mmmm, sure. What'll it be? Maybe a wolf? Pretty unlikely, though....)

Sorrelpaw smiled, sitting down and wrapping her tail around her paws. "Great!" She purred, "I'll just wait for you to finish your prey...."

Larksong shrugged. "Well, Ashcloud did send out some patrols, the last time I heard... But it won't hurt to take a quick peek...." He mewed.

Ospreyfeather laughed. "Of course...." She mewed, "They'll be purr-fect...."

Flashfire took a bite out of his prey, and pushed it over to Streampaw for her to take a bite. "Alright then...." Glancing over at Sootwhisker, he suggested, "How about a competition? Me and Streampaw against you and Sorrelpaw...? Most prey by sun-high wins!"

Sootwhisker shrugged and devoured the rest of the catch before rising to his paws. "C'mon," he mewed.

Smokefur looked unimpressed. "That's the best you can come up with."

Pale-eye nodded slowly and paused, sniffing. She froze. "Something... doesn't feel right..."

[ Hm. Maybe Larksong could get injured, so Wildflower finally has something to do? ]

Sorrelpaw sprang up onto her paws, her tail quivering in anticipation. "Let's gooooo!" She purred.

"Tsk." Ospreyfeather rolled her eyes, batting at Smokefur with her paw, "You know I'm not good at these things...."

Larksong frowned, his nose in the air as he scented the air. "You're right...." He mewed, his voice suddenly hushed, "It's too quiet....''

Pale-eye was shaking with fear. The she-cat's eyes were huge, and she seemed to turn into a furry maraca, chattering and quivering, closing her eyes tightly. "It's a fox," she whispered, seemingly incapable of processing that the same animal who had given her a blind eye was so close.

Sootwhisker nodded and began to amble out of camp.

Smokefur tilted his chin up proudly. "I hope they inherit my epic sense of humor."

Larksong was suddenly aware of what the fox did to her, and pushed her behind him. "Run. Now." He hissed under his breath, the fur along his spine rising.

Flashfire shook his head at Sorrelpaw and Sootwhisker. "Maybe later...." He murmured, "They seem to be busy..."

Sorrelpaw bounded after Sootwhisker happily.

Ospreyfeather shook her head again. "Oh shush, you." She purred.
