After yawning heavily and stretching out each of his hind legs in turn, Thornstep felt an overwhelming urge to go check on Starlingfeather. He had been more quiet than usual ever since the battle with the dogs and he had kept his distance from nearly everyone. It gave the tom nightmares and racked his body with guilt every time he thought about it. He was trying to be the hero and ended up only putting the kits' lives in danger as well as Feathertail's. Shaking his head slightly, Thornstep stood and padded quietly into the medicine den, this time letting the brush of the ferns announce his entry.

Hunter gave her a nod, tilting his head to indicate that Splash should lead. She had more experience in the territory anyways.

Splash bounded ahead, laughing softly. She started towards the stream and stopped at it's back.

Hunter followed the she-cat, his steps not as bouncy nor as excited. The path that he was lead along lead to a stream, and Hunter's hackles raised. He still normally approached it, but he was extraordinarily suspicious of it.

"Okay, so why exactly are we here?" he asked, his voice unhappy and his face confused.

Splash sat down and turned her head to face him. "Well, you said that you wanted to hunt. Why not here first?" She offered politely.

Starlingfeather looked up from her work at the sound of rustling ferns.
Meeting Thornstep's gaze, she rushed to his side and began checking for wounds. "Oh thank
Starclan you're alive! I thought they killed you!" she whimpered quietly, finding no wounds on his
body.

Hunter gave her a look of disapproval, "Really? in the water?"

Hunter sat down and stubbornly meowed, "No. I refuse"

Splash laughed. "We aren't going in the water silly." She said, then watched the water intently, motioning with her tail for him to sit next to her. Her slim paw flashed into the water and she pulled out a small trout and quickly broke its neck.

As the worrisome she-cat checked over his body, Thornstep couldn't help but purr at her concern. "No, no, I'm alright! I only had a few scrapes and bruises, but nothing serious. You were very brave during the battle, unlike me. You protected the kits and you immediately ran to help everyone in need as soon as you possibly could. You are beautifully selfless, Starlingfeather. To me, your job is harder and more demanding than a warrior could ever handle." His tone was affectionate and soft, and his tail waved contently as Silverfeather moved closer to check his body for injury.

Hunter eyed the she-cat, and with one swift movement he saw the fish and then it was dead. His eyes opened wide in wonder, getting up next to the water's edge next to Splash.

His eyes fixed onto the water, hunter kept his paw prepped for use, and when a fish swam a bit too close...

He shot his paw forward, but just splashed the ground next to him, no fish along with it. He pouted at his wet paw, then looked back up to the she-cat with determination, "How did you do it?"
