Phoenix looked at her for a moment. He studied her features. Then he said, "You are forgiven. Now, if I may be so bold, I don't believe you have stated your name. Who are you?" Until this point, Phoenix had not realized the lack of having had something to call her. Then again, to him, it was a minor disadvantage. He would learn it sooner or later.

she smiled. "Dark Flare." she looked up and frowned, seeing storm clouds block out the sky. "i don't mean to intrude, but do you have a place to stay? it's just there's a storm coming, and you can take care of yourself- i can see that- but if either of us stay out much longer we're going to be soaked. unless your apparently harmless flames have the ability to evaporate the rain, in which case i'll be soaked." she glanced at the darkening skyand back at him again. a fat raindrop exploded on the ground between them.

"Yes, I have a den that's farther into the woods, but it won't take long to get there. Follow me," Phoenix said. He had realized it was about to start raining, so he had taken the liberty to make an umbrella of fire hot enough to evaporate the falling rain. Pops and sizzles were heard as droplets were destroyed. The umbrella fit nicely over Dark Flare as they walked on. Finally, they reached a small opening to a cave-like structure that descended down into utter darkness. Phoenix annihilated the umbrella and walked in, a red fireball burning just above his left ear.

Dark Flare blinked in the darkness as she followed him. unconsiously she wove the light of his fire around the cave in streamer like strips of warmth and light. she could hear the rain on the earth above as they moved further back in the cave. "Do you mind?" she said, suddenly aware of how she had manipulated his fire. "i'm sorry, it's kind of instinctive." she felt a faint blush on her cheeks as she saw how unaware she had been to the manipulation of the light.

"No, not really," Phoenix said. As they moved forward, he began to form a white fireball in his den area, which was rather hard because it wasn't easy for him to control something so far away. After moving downward for nearly a quarter of an hour, he saw the white glow just ahead, reflecting off of the crystals in his cave den. As they walked into the den, whose walls were adorned with rubies, sapphires, diamonds, and emeralds from natural deposits, he said, "This is where I live. There is no other way in or out except for the way we came. Make yourself at home."

Dark Flare forcefully stopped herself from bending the light of the fireball, instead distracting herself with the glittering walls of the den."Thank you." she said, realising she must have gained a certain degree of trust from Pheonix for him to show her his home. as she drifted she realised she had made the light seem to have frozen while exploding and sighed at her lack of discipline. "..going to have to work on that.." she muttered under her breath, slightly annoyed with herself as she lay and looked around. she settled her head on her paws looking at the light. it was beautiful, but even so. she moved her eyes to Pheonix, wondering what he made of her inability to control herself.

"Then we must be the same. I live in a land of darkness and you embody it," Aryana said. She shuddered to think of the darkness within her own memories, it consumed her, and made it impossible for her to move on, so that she would never again have a mate or any pups. Nothing could replace what she had had before the fire. Nothing.

Phoenix noticed what Dark Flare had done, but didn't bother to comment on it. He often played around with his fireballs and made them into different shapes, like owls, other wolves, and mountainous landscapes as a way to ignore his boredom and loneliness, during all the time he spent being antisocial.
