Murderers in Riverclan V.3 [welcome back!]

Adderpath rose with the sun, as normal, warrior duties and all. It was too soon in his career to start slacking off if he wanted any respect in the clan. To tell the truth he didn’t really mind much.

Once in camp, it was one glance towards the prey pile and his life changed. Adderpath gulped, than started hyperventilating. Deep breaths, deep breaths... His eyes were fixated on the pair of cats lying by the prey-pile, presumably dead, judging by the glazed look in Cloudpelt's wide eyes. "I'm just going to... to go tell Badgerstar. Yep, uh huh, that's... just what I'm going to do. Yep... Right... now." Adderpath continued to stare as he gave himself a peptalk. I think this might be what shock is. He thought, as he padded towards Badgerstar's den, trying very hard not to throw up or to run for his mother, she was dead anyway. He was sure he'd heard Breezefire say something about shock in the past.

Adderpath poked his head into Baderstar's den. "Um, hi Badgerstar. It's... it's Adderpath, hi. There's well... there's an issue in camp. I think, *gulp* I think Sepiapads and Cloudpelt are dead."

(I was hoping someone else would find the bodies first, oh well.)

Cloverpaw parted her jaws in a wide yawn. Glancing around, she saw that she was the only one up. Great. Now I've nothing to do until someone else is awake... she thought, right before seeing a dark shape flash past outside of the den. When she poked her head out, it was gone. Stepping out of the den, she spotted a couple of warriors eating by the fresh-kill pile. Purring, she headed out to join them. It wasn't until she had sat down beside them that she had noticed the terrible reek in the air, and that the two warriors were oddly still. Frowning, she nudged Cloudpelt. When she didn't respond, the apprentice reached over and prodded Sepiapads. Beginning to feel frustrated, she meowed loudly, "Hey, wake up! It's morning. Time to rise and shine."

Onyxpaw woke with a start, her ears twitching as she looked around her den. huh, guess Cloverpaw is already up she thought, before she got to her paws, before stretching, her tail waving in the air. she slowly made her way out of the apprentice den, before freezing as a rotten smell filled her nose. her eyes landed on the bodies of Cloudpelt and Sepiapads, with Cloverpaw standing near them. Onyxpaw felt her blood run cold as she stared at their limp bodies. please let them just be sleeping she thought, before trotting over to Cloverpaw. instead of saying anything, she just stared at the two cats. she recognized the look of death in their eyes, the same look of death as prey, with their glazed eyes and limp bodies. she gently put her nose into Cloudpelts fur, and to her horror, it was cold as ice.

Bramblestorm padded out of the warriors' den, having slept in just a tad bit too late. As her eyes adjusted to the white sunlight, she watched as Adderpath calmly made his way to the leader's den. She shrugged, and as she walked further out, something off struck her. She could not tell what, but it was not a good feeling. She watched Cloverpaw pawing at two lumps of fur, oblivious that what she was occupied with was not going to respond. It hit Bramblestorm as the smell of death made itself obvious. The clanmates were dead. Her fur struck up and she made a sharp turn to see Badgerstar, following after Adderpath.

xxxx"um, hi badgerstar. it's... it's adderpath, hi. there's well... there's an issue in camp. i think-" were the shaky words, feverish and uncertain, that interrupted badgerstar from her slumber that morning. "-i think sepiapads and cloudpelt are dead."

xxxxher brows furrowing into a knot at the one- no, two- shadows that blocked the entrance to her den it took half a second second for her lime green gaze to focus on the cats standing there. her deputy and one of the newee warriors stood there, looking down on her, though judging by their positioning, and the way the tom's mouth was still somewhat open, adderpath had been the one to make the report to her.

xxxxbadgerstar shook off her fur and flicked her ears as she rose to her paws, glancing over bramblestorm's shoulder in an attempt to see past the massive molly. "...dead?" she questioned slowly, her voice gruff as she padded over to the pair, "where, what happened?"

Adderpath turned his head to follow Badgerstar's gaze, perhaps in hopes that maybe his first impression of dearh had been wrong. But all he saw was Bramblestorm. He jumped very slightly because he’d been too focused on getting his words out even semi-clearly to notice that the deputy had come up behind him. He turned back to answer Badgerstar's questions, very much intimidated by the leader.

"I-I believe so, that they're dead that is. I didn’t really get a good look and I don’t know what happened, but they’re by the fresh-kill pile and I don’t know if anyone else has seen them, Bramblestorm probably has now I guess, but I don’t know what happened." Adderpath's words gradually sped up at he talked, and he could feel his breathing quicken again. Deep breaths. "I was kind of hoping you or Breezefire, or someone not me could figure it out." He confessed softer and slower than before.

Adderpath had only been made a warrior not quite two moons ago, yet he had known death before. Both his parents died when he was still a kit, but they'd already been pretty old when he and his brother were born, there was no mystery to it. Cloudpelt and Sepiapads had no reason to just show up dead, and Adderpath certainly was not prepared to deal with the situation.

Sagethorns eyes slowly opened as she sat up in her nest. She quickly shook out her fur, ain't nobody got time for grooming. It was a beautiful day outside and she was determined to be productive. The large she cat padded out of the warriors den. She squinted in the light, but as she yawned she half yelled "gooOOOOOOD MORNING RIVERCLAN! Fine day isn't it?" she said as she stretched out, hypothetically cracking her back and neck.
(Gonna vote Bluepaw as well. By the way, in my alternate cannon for this character she also went by the name Moonglow and if I do ever use that name I apologize)

There were strong hisses throughout the cats in the clans, the
exile hadn’t even started yet but Bluepaw knew his fate.
“Cats of Thunderclan!” Mewed Badgerstar.
“We have had a murder of two of our cats! Bluepaw,
come here,” she growled furiously with a low tone.

Bluepaw took no notice. She forgave riverclan. She would watch over
Riverclan in Starclan and would give them his biggest blessing of
help.

“I can excuse myself, I respect your opinions,” he bowed with
respect.

The killer hissed at Bluepaw, they didn’t even remember who they
voted, but it didn’t matter now. They lashed their tail uncontrollably,
they wanted to kill Bluepaw on the spot, but they knew
they couldn’t, they had to kill more first.

Badgerstar bit her lip.

Adderpath bowed in respect,
“May Starclan light your path, Bluepaw.”
Murmurs of agreement rose throughout the clan.

“I’ll miss you too, Riverclan,”

Someone unfamiliar was in the meeting. Someone with a huge grin
on her face. Someone who meant business. Someone who wanted revenge.

Bluepaw was struck by lightning from Starclan purposefully, and was greeted
by Cloudpelt and Sepiapads.

Oh Riverclan, you’ve exiled an innocent cat!
