Firefoot lead the patrol through the forest. It was sun high and with a cloudless sky. Even with the sun shining, Firefoot could feel the cold air on his coat. His nose was getting cold and his eyes were getting blurry.
Firekit? Firekit? Look there's a rabbit! No, no foxbrain! Over there! Great, we missed it.
"Orchidkit?" He muttered as he stopped in mid step. He stood frozen, his vision was blurred but he could see two kits playing. His hearing was now just a ringing in his ears. He began to stagger and he fell over.

"firefoot!" Rosepaw mewed stepping under him. he landed on her. pain jolted threw her "ow" she mumbled she pushed lifting him up "what in starclan's name where you thinking?" She mewed looking at where they where going.

Firefoot regained his balance and looked to Rosepaw's blurry vision.
"Thanks, and I think I was just given a sign from Starclan, but I'm not sure." He looked to Rosepaw and blinked slowly and began to go into deep thought. "We missed it." He mewed as he looked to Rosepaw.

Firefoot looked with at Rosepaw for a second. We missed it, what did we miss? He thought. He quickly snapped out of thought. "The house! It has to be on the other side of the thunderpath or around the thunderpath. We had to of missed the house." He said with an excited tone. He looked at the cats in his patrol and nodded. "We have to turn around." He said to the cats.

"Really? You must be lucky, to not be trapped in doors, eh?" Simon mewed. He looked up at the sky and then realized how long he had been gone from his home. A pang of longing welled up inside of him. "I should probably go back," The kitty pet mewed sadly. "I don't believe I caught your name, sweetheart."

Rookpaw jolted up abruptly. The events of last night flashed into his mind. Sighing, he realized he slept in. Pushing his way out of the den, Rookpaw looked around for his mentor. "Spottedeye?" He called tentatively. I hope she didn't leave me too, The apprentice thought nervously.

The white she cat travelled back to camp, feeling a bit sore from sleeping on the hard ground outside of camp. Hunger made her stomach growl, however, she knew that she couldn't eat until she went to help the clan. I wonder who is going to take over as deputy now that it seems that Firefoot has left?Seaheart asked herself.

Firefoot glared at Rosepaw. "Look, if you want to go back to camp, you can. I am trying to find Orchidkit and you acting like this is getting me frustrated." Firefoot growled. He turned away and started heading towards the way to the thunderpath.

Spottedeye turned to see her apprentice. She took one more bite of the rabbit and left the rest to Flamefang. "Rookpaw! Eat something and get ready to go training, today will be busy." She chirped. Her eyes gleamed and she touched her tail on Rookpaw's shoulder. "Good luck you two." Flamefang purred as he laid on his side, he was full of the rabbit he ate with his Spottedeye.
