He spotted the kit, growled "Oh yeah? Maybe because your not skilled enough." He bared his teeth, waving his tail to Fern as a symbol he had heard, and then hoped she would stay out of it. He stalked forward towards the puny kit. "Besides, you have housecat blood. Fern over here has rogue cat blood." He growled, ears flattening. "Unless you want to protest to that and show me your 'power?' " He spat the last words mockingly, rose, and hissed as he waited response.

She stuck out her claws but then tears came to her eyes before running out into the woods. All she could think was why did I join them, they will never except me

"Hmph. I was hoping to spill blood today." He meowed, then turned back to Fern. "Hunting it is then. Lets work on your crouch. Now..I have a different hunting style then your companions. So you may have to learn two types of crouches if you cant convince them that mine works." He lowered himself, his haunches in different places. His right haunch was extended, paw barely skimming the ground, and left planted on the floor to boost himself. (You'll learn about the right haunch in a few posts!) His forepaws were extended as well, claws digging into the floor. (A clancat usually has there haunches together and bunched, and forepaws bunched as well to spring forward from my understanding) He glanced at Fern. "Got it? Try your best to sink into the crouch, Ill help you from there."
