Gryffin put the cap back on her old telescope and stepped back, admiring the starry sky from the small hole in the tree. Perhaps I could sleep now and look for the constellation later in the night, she thought, all through the day she'd been awake and was now regretting it. Gryffin felt very tired and definitely needed to sleep sooner or later, she snuggled down in her nest of twigs and feathers and tried her best to drift off, but for some reason she just couldn't. Yawning, Gryffin sat up and peered out of the hole, she could hear birds cawing and chattering outside, well I wonder who that is. She thought, getting up and hopping outside onto her branch.

Gryffin hopped along her branch until she could see the birds on the tree diagonal to her own, one looked like a woodpecker and the other was an owl like herself. "Evening!" She called out, gliding quite easily but not gracefully to the branch they were stood on, she imediatly recognised the owl as Ember, but she'd never seen the woodpecker before. "Who's this, Ember?" She asked, smiling, she turned to Ering'a. "Well my name is Gryffin, I don't think we've met before. Are you a kingdom bird?"

"I see, well it's nice to meet you, Ering'a." Gryffin smiled at the woodpecker and nodded her head, she liked to meet new birds and it was nice to talk to a bird other than another owl for once, not that she disliked Ember or her other friends, Gryffin just liked the difference sometimes. She turned her head to watch the sunset, the colours gently painting the sky, "the sunsets here are amazing." She said, "Ember, are you a sunrise bird or a sunset bird? I'm a sunset, because I love the night and the colours seem prettier in the darker hours."
