the lean tabby warrior gave an encouraging grin to minnowlight when he noticed her begin to look worried about the number of apprentices. it'll be a breeze minnowlight. they are all well-behaved...I think. a small chuckle escaped his lips before his eyes looked over to see lavendarhaze was joining as well, also with her apprentice. see, and now we have another warrior. thank you for joining lavendarhaze...plus another apprentice. okay so still outnumbered, but a strong force! being optimistic at this moment was kind of difficult, simply because he barely felt like he had his own apprentice under control sometimes (though maybe it was because he could be a little too laidback sometimes). his eyes landed on lightpaw, who was coming back with....oh jeez another one. that makes three warriors and five apprentices. ha. haha. oh, goodie he thought to himself silently, not wanting the apprentices to know he might be freaking out a little. wolfrunner looked down at lightpaw and said that is a very good idea, lightpaw. smokepaw and mosquitopaw will pair up, then you and I, minnowlight and leopardpaw, and lavendarhaze and loonpaw. everyone make sure you have your buddy with you at all times. that way we can keep up with each other. at least now there was a slight system in place, however dysfunctional it probably would turn out to be.

wolfrunner's ears rotated forwards at the sound of loonpaw's mewing question. he gave a soft purr to the young one and said i've battled against four raccoons and three hawks in my lifetime. i'm sure two extra apprentices won't even cause me to break a sweat. okay, that may have been an over-exaggeration...more like he fought a raccoon and ran from a hawk. but what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them, right? he stood up from his spot and said alright, I think we can head out now. any more cats and I think the whole forest would hear us coming. mosquitopaw, smokepaw, if you have any questions about hunting, I would love to help. and i'm sure the other two brilliant warriors would have no problem with it, either. and with that, let's go. he began walking out of the cave, though he was very cautious. the night was a very different time than the day. it was more difficult to see dangers, which meant relying on your other senses was a necessity. hearing and smell were two very important senses for those in the night.

I love you guys but wolfrunner is but a lowly goofy warrior hehehe, though I do hold the deputy of sunclan!

the leopard-spotted apprentice noticed the numbers of the group quickly rising. originally it was five cats. now all of sudden there were eight...and only three warriors! their mentors were crazy to think that they could hold down all five of these apprentices. half of her really wanted to behave because she felt bad for the warriors. but if she saw something interesting in the woods, it was really a play it by ear moment. she may stay with the group, she may lead astray and find herself lost (though she knew her way back fairly well by now, seeing as she has gotten lost before). she made up her mind to be on her best behavior (though that wasn't saying much) when she saw the look on her mentor's face. she looked anxious, probably about the rising number of apprentices in the ground, but something else was present...sadness. she let her ears fall back ever so slightly for a moment as if she was mourning for the cat herself, but she decided it wasn't the time or place to talk about feelings, especially when minnowlight wasn't much of an....emotion talker.

leoparpaw looked to the ground in an awkward silence before her eyes moved to wolfrunner. he decided that it was time to go out on that patrol now, which heightened her spirits. she looked at the apprentices and said, haha! it is now time to show you all my miraculous hunting skills! beware of my amazing talents! in an attempt to show off her "confidence," she failed to noticed minnowlight and wolfrunner already walking out of the cave. she leaped forward from her spot and ran to catch up with the two warriors, knowing the others would follow as well.

Lavenderhaze walked out of the cave along with Loonpaw and the rest of the patrol. She can see the moon high up in the starry sky. Wolfrunner's story made her smile. 'I guess some warriors have interesting stories to tell. She wish she can tell the patrol her story about how she was taught how to swim by her friend Ripple the river otter but they won't believe her cause two different species of animals can't be friends or a mentor.' The sliver warrior though to herself.

I was right! Smokepaw and Mosquitopaw will be good friends, she thought with a stifled giggle. "Oh, that's perfect! That gives an even number of pairs," Lightpaw stated matter-of-factly and proudly when her mentor praised her. She followed Wolfrunner out of the cave and glanced back at the other cats, watching them pad along too. A tingle of excitement passed over her. Lightpaw was rarely with this many apprentices all at once other than when she was sleeping in the den. "Then what are you going to catch?" she asked Leopardpaw, who was ahead of her, in a challenging way and raised her head.

Cinderfeather sighed."I'm not sure." She flicked her head to look over at Smokepaw as he rambled about how overprotective she was. Her ears flattened, she looked away. She was only overprotective because she cared for him.

His gaze followed Cinderfeather's eyes to Smokepaw, and he offered a small smile. Hailnight rested his tail-tip on her flank again and waited until she looked at him again, purring sympathetically as soon as she did. "I'm sure he'll be okay. Apprentices are nosy," Hailnight reassured her and hoped she would believe him. Most of the time Cinderfeather did, luckily.
