Paws met wood and she nearly lost balance in surprise. When she looked at it closely, it wasn't a dog, it was just a weird stump that looked like a dog. Embarrassment flooded her face and she ran off, even though nobody was watching.

Vesuvius looked around, then caught the scent of squirrel. His three eyes narrowed to pinpoint the squirrel that was munching on a nut. Smoke came out of his ears, cloaking the surroundings. Vesuvius was able to see in this smoke, and he pounced on the squirrel and then quickly poisoned it with the spikes on the tip of his tail. The smoke cleared as Vesuvius jumped up into a tree to eat his prey.
