Oliver/Vaporeon

Oliver nodded and slipped off the backpack he was carrying, dropping it to the ground. He promptly put the badge in a front pocket and zipped it shut for safe keeping. "I'm ready to go whenever you guys are." He was about to put the backpack back on when he remembered something and proceeded to open up his bag and pull out a pair of goggles. Oliver slipped them on but pushed them to his forehead. "Now I'm totally ready. These help me see better in water should I need to dive. Not that we're going to encounter a ton of water or rain or anything...but they also look kind of cool." He smiled sheepishly and slipped his backpack back on.

Levi/Raichu

Levi paced back and forth in front of the entrance to Team Twilight Terrors hideout, hidden deep within the Forest of Shadows. He was in charge of guard duty today but his partner never showed up.
Irritating, he thought, it seems they only recruit such irresponsible noobs nowadays. Tch.
Just thinking such thoughts set the sparks in his cheeks off and low crackling could be heard.

It, uh. It took him a second to really catch on to what she was saying, mostly because he thought she was asking to battle him. The Torchic was even starting to settle into a ready stance before the rest of the sentence processed. It's almost disappointing but a dungeon would have multiple Pokemon to fight, not just the one. "Oh, I'm so down for that." He twists around to leave (literal) chicken scratch in the dirt that looks like it could... pass as a note, maybe. Turning back, he grins, "The name's Demo, cool to meet ya! Now which dungeon are we going to?" He knows his priorities at least.

Serene humming drifts from the entrance, dainty pawsteps soon announcing her approach further. Lace pauses long enough to blink at the irate Raichu, then she giggles and walks fully outside. "My," she says, voice sing-song, "all alone, Levi?" The Sylveon glances around, mouth pulling into a small frown. "That's a shame, they seemed so promising." The past tense doesn't exactly imply good things for their future, but perhaps that's to be expected.

"Give it a rest, Lace." Levi shot a dirty look in her direction, his cheeks still crackling. "They were worthless additions to the team anyways. We can do better. Just irritating that I'm on guard duty alone, again." He faced away from the Sylveon and added "Not that I couldn't handle a threat by myself. I am capable of defending the base."

"Aw," she coos, "there's no need to be a grump about it." Lace lets herself pout for a second, then drops the act to stare out into the dungeon. "I should hope you're capable, if we can't even keep our own base locked down..." She trails off, tone dark. Her ribbons coil in the air, like they're looking for something to grasp. "Well!" She chirps, mood instantly swinging back to bright. "That doesn't matter! There'll be a push for more recruits soon, either way." With no worthless fodder this time, she mentally adds.

The vulpix's ears perked up instantly but as she noticed the team to just ignore her afterwards, Well do they think I'm to young to go on adventures..., making up her mind on what she would do her tail started wagging rapidly. Ruby decided to engage them again, but actually releasing all that bottled up excitement, "You guys reckon you could let me come with you?" She asked, trying to change the tone to actually sound her age. As well as releasing all the excitement.

"Item retrieval" Asa answered, moving her focus to the riolu, "Nothing to special, I wanted an easy quest to have some time to myself." Her ears had started to twitch more often as she talked to the riolu, who actually started to intrigue her, "What's your quest about?"

"Don't worry your pretty little head about my job. Worry about yours. Don't you have an assignment to do?" He glared at Lace, such an annoyance. "Besides, new recruits are a waste of time. Incompetent, all of them. It seems as though no one knows how to do anything right nowadays. Where are we finding these recruits anyways?"

That was awkward, he thought. After the encounter with Plix and Evi, he kinda ran off, not knowing what to say. I’m such an idiot! Now that he thought about it, Blaze realized that he was a coward. He had told them, in a nervous tone, “Well, uh, I should really find a quest to do. Um, yeah. Bye!” In a rush, he had sprinted as fast as his little paws could carry him, away, to the Quest Board. Skimming through them now, hoping to find one he could do on his own, he thought,”Oh no, why did I run off?!? I should have just asked if they wanted to join me, I’m so dumb!” Still, maybe it was for the better. If they had known the truth, he might have been laughed at. After all, they hadn’t seen each other in years, why would they remember him? “Aww, these are impossible without a team. Unless-“ Blaze was looking at all of the requests, trying to do one that was possible for an individual, when he glanced- “Plix? Wait, no, she’s back at the Swanna,” he was trying to figure out the answer to this question, racking his brain for answers. “Who is she? She holds herself differently than Plix, yet they both share that look in their eyes, seeking adventure.”

"Fetch quest? That's pretty good! For me, I'm hunting down this jerk Vigoroth that hightailed it out here. The request note said he stole this Mareep's gold ribbon that she was going to sell out on the town later," The Riolu explained with a slight growl, "I usually take on outlaw cases, since I get to beat some no-good's snozz in AND bring them to justice, which is a win-win for me!" She chuckled, then emphasized her enthusiasm pounding her fists together with a grin.
She lessened the act after a second though, getting struck with a sudden idea. She was still evidently full of energy, but gave the Eevee a partially more professional tone. "Say, since we're doing jobs in the same dungeon, how about we work together? Two pairs of eyes can find something twice as fast, after all.~"

Fenn ;; male Braixen @ Post Town - Request Board. Tags: Tatsuya, Oliver, Ruby

Fenn let out a polite laugh towards Oliver's goggles, entertained by the water-type's genuine explanation as to why he carried them. Not to say he wasn't guilty of similar 'vanities', considering the bow he'd tied to his stick as an act of random sentimentality. "If you're absolutely set Oliver, Tatsuya, then I think we should be on our way--"
It was then that he caught the Vulpix' second interruption, and at this point he was more than just passive towards it. He paused, then looked over at his younger counterpart. The Braixen tried his best to add the twinge of hesitation in his voice- not because he was overwhelmed, but more of concern towards the other pokemon- and failed. "A-ah, well... I will admit that our team roster is, as of now, fairly well-rounded..."
Fenn couldn't help but feel guilty about outright denying the other pokemon though. It was true that would give him two vulnerable teammates to keep a watch over, including the injured Flareon by his side, but it felt wrong to just shut down Ruby entirely. "... If my teammates would find it okay, then I would say you can tag along. It's a very difficult dungeon though, and It'd be bad if you were knocked out there," he explained, then looked to Oliver and Tatsuya. If they had no objections, then he'd accept the younger pokemon into his travel party for the time being.

Tetsuo ;; male Zoroark @ Forest of Shadows. Tags: Open

Better get a move on, now. Tetsuo had figured he overstayed his welcome under the large tree he was lurking under, and started to slink off deeper into the forest. He kept his guard about him, claws raised up to intercept any sneak attacks from the pokemon that lived here. It's already bad enough that a Krokorok almost wiped the floor with me earlier, can't leave room for that again...
The thought of encountering even tougher foes as the Zoroark pressed on was admittedly intimidating, especially with the thought of burly fighting types having a reputation of hanging around here. At least if he spotted them before they saw him, he could flee with ease. At least he reckoned that way as to comfort himself.
But for the life of a criminal things were never exactly that simple. Lost in thought as he crept in the dark, Tetsuo caught his foot on the root of a tree and let out an involuntary yelp before tripping onto the forest floor. He was quick to push himself halfway up and search wildly for anyone that saw him, but the damage was done, evidenced the a faint echo back of his surprised cry.

He turned his head back towards Fenn as he questioned if they were ready, giving a small nod. Tatsuya was certainly not opposed to finally leaving, maybe more movement would work a bit more of the stiffness out of his leg. Just holding still like this was a lot rougher on it, it would seem. Not that he was at all willing to admit this fact, or even show it beyond shifting his weight back and forth every so often.
The Flareon's ear flicked in vague amusement at the Vulpix's request however, less at the Vulpix herself and more with the obvious conflict going on within his partner. Couldn't just say no, of course. His eyes flickered up and down her once more, expression vaguely thoughtful. They were used to managing with an overwhelming amount of fire and little else- Oliver would be a refreshing change of pace- so as long as she didn't fall behind or do anything horribly stupid, he didn't see much of a problem with letting her tag along. He gave an approximation of a shrug in response to Fenn's questioning look, showing that he wasn't going to stop her from joining them if she wanted to that badly.

Her gaze sharpens slightly, though her cheerful smile doesn't waver. "Oh, did you think I came out here just to talk? To you? Aw, gosh Levi, I'm sorry to disappoint, but I am doing my job." Whether she was going to continue to nettle the Raichu or leave is suddenly moot, considering the abrupt shout that just rang out. Lace freezes, ear immediately swiveling to try and locate the source. When there's no followup commotion, or sounds of a Pokemon coming towards them, her expression shifts to one of contemplation. After a moment, she jerks her head in that direction, silently conveying her intention to check it out. Levi can follow or stay if he wants, she can't find it in her to care. "Hello?" She calls, pitching her voice to sound concerned as she 'wanders'. "Wh-who's there?" A nervous young girl in a dark dungeon can draw any type of Pokemon out. A goodhearted Explorer looking to rescue or a sly thief looking for an easy target- both would feel the urge to approach. Both could help with their goals. Lace will play her part with ease.
