"I suppose that's true," Heron said after a moment, "but you also get more independence and freedoms," he pointed out. He nodded at her question and bent down into a crouch. He certainly wasn't the best fighter in the Clan, but he was decent. He didn't know how good Lily was though. Watching her, he waited for any signs that she would attack.

As Shroud responded, Lupine took a long and deep breath, her lungs quickly filling with the icy air. When she exhaled, she watched the cloud of steam rise and disperse until it was gone. "Leaf-bare will come soon enough." She reassured the older she cat, "In fact, while I was on a hunt yesterday, I thought I could smell snow in the air. We've already had our first frost, it shouldn't be long until we finally get our first snow."

With a faint smile tugging at the corner of her mouth, the grey she-cat looked up at the blue sky, letting a long breath out to watch it turn into cold mist as well. "Even though a lot of cats dislike it, it's really pretty, you have to admit. Soon the snow will blanket everything in white." Shroud pictured it, anticipating its arrival as she looked down at her paws, pale gray eyes lost in thought.

Coalstorm nodded, following after and walking alongside her. "Me too, even though leaf-bare comes soon after, leaf-fall provides us with time to prepare for it and catch a lot of prey while its still plentiful." He perked his ears at her question, before replying, "I'd rather go for ground prey. I'm not too good at fishing." He sheepishly smiled once he finished answering.

Mistystar nodded understandingly. Most cats didn't know how to fish. Some did, and were great at it, but most cats preferred not to. "I think this is a good place, yes?" she asked quietly, looking at the warrior beside her. She had stopped in the forest a bit of a distance away from camp. It was a bit breezy, but not enough to discourage prey from looking for somewhere else to store food or whatever they did.

"Yes, this is fine." He purred, excited to start hunting. Scenting the air as a breeze blew their way, he said, "I smell a squirrel both to our left and far right, and some birds ahead." He sniffed the air once more. "And I think there are some mice somewhere around here too. Which do you want to go for?"

Mistystar didn't really care which one they went for. She didn't particularly want to be spitting feathers out of her mouth after their hunting trip though. "The squirrel to the left?" she whispered back. While waiting for Coalstorm's reply, she sniffed the air to confirm that there was, indeed, a squirrel to the left.

Lupine curiously glanced at the other she cat when she heard a faint trace of emotion laced with Shroud's usually impassive tone. She smiled then looked up towards the sky along with her. "I hope the snow comes soon, and I hope it gets so cold outside that the river freezes." She giggled, flicking her ears upwards as a small bird flew over the camp."Last winter, I was a kit and I wasn't allowed to leave camp, so when the river froze over, I never got a chance to see it."

Sparrowwhisker padded out of the Warriors Den, sleepiness washing off her like a running river. She sat down, putting her tail on her paws as she watched over camp. She closed her eyes, enjoying the happy chatter in the clan.

Clawfur:
Clawfur sat up from his spot where he was slightly dozing. He was hungry as he headed over to the fresh-kill pile, he was looking around fir a cat to share with. He held a plump bird in his mouth, he wanted to confirm that everycat was not going to eat it.

Nikita suddenly caught the scent of a hare on the breeze, and he decided to split from Tempest's hunting party to search for it. He gave it a wild chase when he found it, but the hunt only resulted with an escaped hare and a long walk ahead of him. Sulking, Nikita began to slowly pad home, highly disappointed in himself. After all, he had chased it this far and he still couldn't catch up to it. Nonetheless, there were still hungry mouths. Maybe he could try to catch something else along the way.

pebble awoke with a start, her grey eyes darting around the shadowy healer cave. chuckling quietly to herself, she realised that her night's vision of winged mice was thanfully, only a dream. taking her time to stretch out the kinks in her muscles from a rough sleep, she noticed that Juniper was not in the den with her. perhaps she left to go on patrol, pebble thought to herself. a smile stretched across her face as she stepped out of the den and into the sunshine of the clan centre.

glancing around for someone to talk to, pebble didn't spot anyone at all. oh. she thought to herself, well that's a little disappointing. she sat down in a patch of sunlight and began to groom herself.
