The clan gathered once again, not to discuss a murderer in another clan, but a traitor among themselves. Frostystar, with the medicine cat at her side, began to speak: "We have lost two great warriors today. Loyal, helpful, and skillful, may Stormtail and Bramblestorm hunt with Starclan now" Pausing as a murmur of agreement and farewells crept across the gathered cats, Frostystar whispered her own farewell to her clanmates before continuing, "We originally thought that it was the rogues who killed them, however Littlemoon has informed me that he has received a message from Starclan" Gesturing to Littlemoon with her tail, the leader stepped back to allow the medicine cat to address the clan. "It is true, I have received a message from Starclan. Raintail, Stormtail and Bramblestorm's mother, came to me not long after we discovered the warriors' bodies" Littlemoon stopped, eyes scanning the clan. There was a fearful spark in his eyes, "Raintail told me that there is a traitor among us, and-" Cut off as a chorus of gasps and yowls sounded from Riverclan, the medicine cat glanced back at Frostystar, who ordered for her clan to let Littlemoon finish. "She also told me a prophecy.." Closing his eyes, Littlemoon's voice rang loudly for all to hear: "A single stray spark turned traitorous will break the clans one by one. Trust no one". Pain clawed at Littlemoon's face as he heard angered yowls, and then accusations being shot around the gathered cats like enraged wasps darting around and stinging everything in sight, "Sparks are white, it's a cat with white fur!" "Don't be mouse-brained, sparks create fire, it's a cat with orange fur!" "The traitor will break the clans, turn them to ash, the guilty cat has grey or black fur!" "What if the spark refers to their personality? An eager apprentice or kit!" Yowls broke into hisses as the cats challenged one another, ignoring Frostystar's begs for silence.
Duckpaw glanced up at Blazeheart, feeling like a kit again as she sought comfort from her mother's soft fur, "Littlemoon didn't tell me he'd received a prophecy..." Blazeheart shook her head, smiling down at her only kit, "Duckpaw, perhaps Raintail told Littlemoon to announce it to the clan as a whole. Even if it has caused chaos..." She glanced at the hissing cats, "We'll get through this, don't worry" Blazeheart's brief feeling of happiness was quickly extinguished as her name was suddenly hissed loudly, "I think it was Blazeheart! She doesn't seem particularly affected by the prophecy, in fact, she seems rather happy". Silence. Even the stream had grown quiet as dozens of eyes fixed on the deputy. Blazeheart opened her mouth to speak, but a bristling Duckpaw was already stood defensively between her mother and the clan, "How dare you blame my mother for these atrocities! Blazeheart would never kill her clanmates" The medicine cat apprentice hissed, though two warriors were already advancing on Blazeheart. "Traitor!" The word burned the deputies' ears, but she didn't argue. Standing, ears drooped and tail dragging on the floor, Blazeheart turned to Duckpaw, "I'm so proud of you, Duckpaw" Duckpaw stood, shaking her head, "I'm coming with you" Was all she said, and so the two cats left Riverclan together, not looking back once.
Duckpaw suggested straight away that they should go to Thunderclan: she was good friends with their medicine cat, and had been friends with the recently passed medicine cat apprentice, Rainpaw. They arrived, and after a brief discussion, joined Thunderclan as the new medicine cat apprentice and a loyal warrior, who always had been proud of her only daughter.
Two more cats gone, Riverclan.
With Blazeheart gone, Frostystar appoints Rowanheart as deputy

What had they done? Exiling their deputy and
medicine cat apprentice, a mother and daughter,
with all of the rogues around? Were they safe? Were
they injured? Where were they now? The questions
buzzed inside Spidernose's head as he sat down in
the shadows, waiting for the murderer to strike. He
didn't believe it was Blazeheart. Not a mother who's
eyes shone with so much pride when they looked down
at their daughter. They weren't murderers' eyes, they
weren't the eyes of a killer. Why would the deputy
harm her own clan?
With some time before the murderer appeared (there
were still some warriors about, the murderer wouldn't
risk striking now), Spidernose had a moment to think
about the prophecy. He didn't think it referred to the
killer's pelt, that would be to obvious, but their
personality? A lively kit? An eager apprentice? Perhaps
even a newly made warrior. All three were possible
choices, but who?
The camp had emptied. Only the lone warrior sat,
waiting for the murderer to appear. He'd caught a
glimpse of them the first night, perhaps the only
witness in the whole clan, but not enough to work
out who had killed Stormtail and Bramblestorm.
A pawstep. And another. Light and soft, heading
directly towards him.
Spidernose tensed, his bright yellow eyes flickering
around the camp before finally resting on the cat
he had heard, "What are you doing up at this time?"
Spidernose asked, tilting his head to the side. Fear
tugged at his heart, though he told himself to not
freak out, to concentrate, just this one time. The
murderer tensed, fur bristling for a split second as
though the whole of Riverclan were about to attack.
They seemed to calm quickly however: only one cat
would be dying tonight, a cat who had caught just
a glimpse of the killer during their first attack.
"I was going to go for a walk" The murderer said,
to which Spidernose responded with a disapproving
glare, "A walk? You can't go for a walk at this time,
especially not without a warrior to go with you".
The murderer didn't seem to like this, as a flash, the
same one that had appeared before they had struck
Stormtail, lit up their eyes. Spidernose guessed that
an attacking was coming before the murderer had even
pounced, and so turned tail and ran out of camp, the
murderer at his heels.
He headed towards the stream, where he would rely on
his experience to outmaneuver the murderer and, hopefully,
they would fall into the stream without him laying a claw
on them. The stream was in his sight as he ran further and
further away from camp.
Something was wrong.
Skidding to a halt, Spidernose glanced back, only to find the
murderer was no long chasing him, "That fox-hearted coward!"
he hissed angrily, tail lashing at the air. No matter, at least
he now knew who the murderer was, and could report back to
the clan before any more murders. Turning, head held high as
a sense of triumph washed over him, Spidernose took only a few,
proud steps before he felt a heavy weight on his back, and sharp
claws in his neck.
Spidernose sat with Stormtail and Bramblestorm in Starclan,
watching his beloved clan be torn apart one by one, knowing who
the murderer was as they padded among their clanmates.
Riverclan, you have lost a witness!
