Fly was still ticked off by the Doberman, and as she trotted through the forest and back to camp, she scented a pigeon. Crouching, she creeped foreward and pounced on the bird. She carried it along with her and they soon entered camp.

The german shephard raised his head as the patrol came back.He quickly looked around for the white rabbit,satisfied when he saw Snip was carrying it.

The boxer trotted happily into camp with her first catch.She set it down,tail wagging and then looked at Fly,wondering what to do.

"Keeping the farm safe is my business." she was about to say more when she happened to glance across the field and see her longpaw's black loudcage coming down the road.She quickly spun around and raced back to the farmhouse,if she was fast enough she might be able to make it there before he did.

After depositing her catch on the prey pile, Fly went over to report to Alpha. "Alpha, we found a new leashed dog that seems to be guarding the longpaw field, he might give us trouble in the future. I warned him off, but I don't know if he will stay away."

The german shephard stood as Fly padded towards him.After she had spoken he nodded,"I dont think it will cause any complications." he said.He glanced over at the setting sun,climbing onto a fallen tree he called the pack together."Journey Pack,assemble! It is time to appoint a new beta!" he howled over the noise.

Chase opened his mou to reply until he heard the call. He quickly followed Niita and sat down beside her. He raised his head slightly to look at the German Shepard.

"Oh, the alpha calls." She said as she got up. "Come on Bellamy." She called as she started walking to Alpha.

"Ow, bye." He said as he rolled over, got up and bounced over to him mother to walk with her to the meeting place.

Fly nodded at her Alpha's words and went to sit down with the others.

Leaf perked up his ears from his resting spot when Alpha called the pack. He trotted over and sat near the back, never liking to be in the middle of a large crowd.

The german shephard waited until his pack had assembled and then said,"You all know that Journey pack has been without a beta for some time.After much consideration I have selected a dog that,I believe, will be fair and just.This new beta will be..." he waited as the pack hung in suspense.Not wanting to leave them in the dark too long,he continued,"Fly!" he howled into the night air.
