"Stonepaw?" He repeats, not sure to whom his apprentice was speaking to. Lots of cats though outloud to fallen warriors, past lovers and family but it wasn't often he saw an apprentice talking to no one. "You alright?" Making sure the younger cat was paying attention.

Not fully convinced, he just nodded and waited for the cats to come back. "I'm too old for those kinds of surprises, I think by now I know the difference between a warrior and a cat with high hopes." It wasn't meant to sound as mean as it was, but dashing through the forts to out run a fox or other enemies took long legs.

The tabby she-cat simply shook her head and looked towards the direction Thunderhaze had gone. Her apprentice was somewhat right, it would be difficult for Stonepaw if he didn't grow any taller.

Stonepaw looked at his mentor and then to thunderhaze, and mewed,"I am fine. " his tail twitched with excitement. He knew he was different but he was learning to accept the fact that his sister was the normal one.

She walked towards the stone which all the cats had gathered under. Today was the day she got a mentor! Excitement filled the little apprentice's body. Her tail curled up around her as she sat there in curiousity.

My eyes watched our leader pad out onto the high stone, my heart raced, would I get an apprentice? His ears perked up as he saw all of the apprentices awaiting their turn to be called and given to a mentor.

Patchfoot quickly exited the camp beside silvermist.

"Then lets hurry or Stormpaw will leave us behind." The silver cat seemed eager to get moving with or without them, so he lead the way over trying not to stay too far ahead of his apprentice. The last thing he wanted was to discourage Stonepaw to be a warrior. "We're ready to go!" He calls to Dogtooth.

Mildly amused his mentor had not been able to respond to his comment, but still tried to keep his sharp tongue from stabbing at Stonepaw's soft spots. The taller Thunderhaze gave him a stiff look, but Stormpaw only shrugged and started skipping towards the entrance.

"How ridiculous, apprentices getting work before the warriors. You'd think a patrol would have been organized by now, even without a deputy." She hisses to herself, glaring at the cats just sitting around like there was no work to be done. "If I was deputy, Starclan forbid these furballs would just be sitting around in the morning sun..."

His eyes scan camp taking note of who was awake and ready. Cloudfrost, Wolfclaw, Firetail and Silverpaw; just the right amount of cats too. His ears flick at Sunstar wondering if he was waiting a little longer before giving orders, perhaps debating the next deputy. The back of his mind prayed for a tom, they needed all the she-cats open for kits if the clan was going to keep growing.

Cloudfrost saw Blacksky and nodded a greeting.She got up and stretched as she was still drowsy.She walked over to the freshkill pile and chose a mouse.She ate it up hungrily.

Sunstar stood on the high stones. "Silverpaw." He started, his voice loud to quiet the talking cats remaining in camp. "I am not the most pleased to say that you have not yet received a mentor... I think we need to change that. Timberwood. You have shone that you are a strong and loyal warrior to LakeClan. I expect you to pass all you know to Silverpaw." He finished, mentally slapping himself for not doing this earlier.

Rivermist slowed so that she padded slightly behind Patchfoot, since she didn't really know what tansy looked like.

Silverpaw purred in excitement as her name was called. She nuzzled her leader in gratitude and mewed,"I will be the best apprentice you could ever have, Timberwood."

My eyes searched every where for tansy, my heart stopped once I saw what remained of where the tansy had been. "Oh, no.. This can't be right! This can't be right!" She fixed her eyes on the torn up roots of the tansy. Her eyes darkened when she mewed,"It's a sign... From star clan.." At first she thought she was crazy till she saw a dead squirrel that had been torn apart. She looked to Silvermist,"We must warn Sunstar immediately." She sensed something would happen.. But would it be? Was star clan telling her something about the kits that would be born soon? Or something more?"
