He nodded his agreement to Mistytail. 'I'm just trying to think positive about it... I think there's more clan in the forest than in the actual camp, anyway. If they do get in some sort of trouble, there'll more likely than not be another cat there to help them.' He tried to keep his smile up, but to no avail.

thornwind :

Growling approached Thornwind and two yellow eyes appeared
from the dark before leaping out at him. Dodging out of the way and yowling
with surprise, he leaped out in front of Featherdawn. Letting his claws push out
and dig into the dirt. The fox lunged forward to bite him yet throwing his paw
to push him away and clawing the side of his neck. The fox growled and
Thornwind yowled "Seedpaw, Minnowpaw! Get away from here! Get back to camp
if you can!"

Featherdawn stood, shocked and terrified for a second before leaping at the shoulder of the fox, biting it.

Minnowpaw & Seedpaw

Minnowpaw made her way into a clearing where the scent was strongest. She could see a mound of dirt with a hole in it that reminded her of a rabbit hole. But it didn't have the scent of rabbits. "Let's go back!" Seedpaw insisted, his eyes huge. Minnowpaw didn't have the chance to respond before a huge reddish grey creature exploded out of the hole. Then Thornwind appeared infront of them. Minnowpaw's eyes were huge and she seemed rooted to the ground with fear. Seedpaw however darted back towards camp.

"True. When I got back from hunting, I first thought Brightfern had already assigned patrols since almost everybody was out somewhere. You're right, they'll be fine with all the warriors out there."

thornwind :

Thornwind leaped at the fox from the other side that Featherdawn had attacked. Taking his claws and raking them along his side. The fox threw Featherdawn off and bit Thornwind's side. Yowling with pain. Scratching his muzzle in attempt to get away. "Featherdawn climb a tree! Create a distraction for us to get away! We need more cats to fight this fox."

Featherdawn did what she was told and ran up the closest tree. She didn't know whether to go back to camp or stay and help. Thornwind needed help, but she was smaller than most cat's and wouldn't be much of a help. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Minnowpaw still near. She tried calling down to her, but her voice wasn't loud enough.

Minnowpaw

As she watched, she heard Thornwind yell that they needed more cats. Her body trembled like a leaf and she was clearly terrified but Thornwind needed help. Trying to push her fear back, she stopped thinking and flung herself onto the fox's back, her needle sharp claws digging into it's pelt.

Riverspirit

Riverspirit nipped off a few more stalks of thyme before gathering up the pile to carry back home. Unaware of the battle unfolding on the other side of the forest, she slipped into camp and padded towards the medicine den.

thornwind :

Yowling in agony as the fox bit him again. Letting his muscles take their turn and leaping forward and clawing the fox's face. Growling at the fox and the fox growling back. Thornwind had ear's pinned and his tail flicking furiously. Taking one more leap and landing on the fox's back and sinking his claws in. The fox tried to throw him off but he refused to leave its back. Minnowpaw then joined him and it was a lot easier. "Be careful!!"

She watch as Minnowpaw leaped at the fox. 'Minnowpaw!' She called, trying to stop her. She leaped down from the tree and stood at the bottom of it, trying to make up her mind to stay or to get help. If she stayed, she wouldn't be much help. But if she got help, she might be too late.

As Rabbittail sat talking to Mistytail, he spotted Riverspirit walking in the entrance of the camp. He smiled and said farewell to Mistytail and followed Riverspirit into the medicine cats den. 'Hey Riverspirit.' He said with a wide smile.
