Littlesong nodded and felt the impact of her apprentice at her side. She rolled under him and darted away, bristling her fur to look bigger.

Lionpaw quickly jumped away when she moved, he suddenly looked surprised when she bristled. He paused before rushing at her again.

[Curious]

Hawkflight felt her heart burst. "Oh, Oakstar, I don't know what to do! I love you so much and I know I shouldn't because I'm a medicine cat, but I do, I can't help it! I've wanted to tell you forever but I never knew how to say it, and now...now you know..." the words came out of her before she knew what she was saying. She looked down at the chest and felt her eyes beginning to burn. "Oakstar...just...no matter what happens...please don't tell me I can't be medicine cat anymore..." Tears began to drip slowly from her eyes. "I wouldn't be able to live with myself if that happened...Sagepaw needs me, the whole Clan needs me..." A puddle of tears was beginning to form around Hawkflight's paws.

Littlesong ducked and smiled, before turning and meowing in laughter. "Come on, Lionpaw! Fierce!"

Sagepaw nodded and let out a sigh shaking her head she stood "do you know where Lionpaw went we were supposed to go hunting " she stood "do you want something off the freshkill pile" she asked turning her head slightly.

Oakstar's eyes widened before softening, "Oh Hawkflight, I will not punish you for your feelings. We have been good friends for a very long time, but I cannot return your feelings. It is against the warrior code and especially as the leader of this Clan, it is impossible. I am sorry." He replied and lightly placed his tail on her shoulder. He was not going to strip her of her position, but he was surprised.

Lionpaw sighed before bristling and swiftly lunging at her.

Foxpelt nodded, "He went to go train with Littlesong." She replied before smiling and shaking her head. "No, I'm not hungry, but I'll take you to Lionpaw." She offered.

Sagepaw smiled to the queen a nodded slightly "i dont want to intrrupt his training but i would appreciate your company collecting herbs would you like to come?" She asked a little less stressed her tail swished as she spoke.

Foxpelt nodded, "Of course." She replied and smiled softly. Looking back on her life, if she had become a medicine cat, her Clan would've been saved and Viperstrike wouldn't have killed her mate and her grandfather.

Sagepaw cocked her head to the side "you okay foxpelt. " she asked looking at the queens sudden change of demeanor.

Foxpelt shook her head and looked at Sagepaw, "Just thinking back to my old Clan." She sighed sadly and stretched.
