I ran back to camp, stopping only to pick up poppy seeds, the only herb I knew. I rushed to Silverrain. "If you are going to die then at least die in peace!" I gave her the poppy seeds to ease the pain.

(It's not pain, she can't breathe.)

(well, she thinks she is in pain, she isn't a medicine cat so she doesn't know what to do.)

Silverrain did nothing.

Essence

I couldn't help her. "Sorry Silverrain. I can't help you..." A tear fell from my nose on to Silverrain.

Silverrain didn't move.

(Every cat is required to at least know a few herbs. She's just sitting there crying as her leader dies?)

(nothing can help her now, I know my herbs, I have a list of them and what they do, if she can't eat any poppy seeds, she can't eat anything else.)
