silence was broken once again as the roar of a metal giant sped past, causing the earth to shake wildly under the black and white spotted male meio, as he pinned his ears back. wind gust past as he crouched to the ground, attempting to not be blown away from the wild tornado's that the metal monster caused. with a small flick of his tail, he watched the red glaring eye's of the thing on its strange, circle-shaped paws. he wasn't going to lie. even on the edge of a dip in the world, or what its seemed to be, thousands of giant paws in shoes walking past, and watching monsters go past. wasn't really the ideal life for a thing as small as a button. even though he was bigger then most mieos. by barely a mm.
but hey.
putting his paws onto the edge of what seemed to be a dip in the earth, though was really just a sidewalk, the male edged over the side with his back paws, scrambling his paws to attempt to let him down slowly, but ended up landing with a bump and a small squeak on his tail, before getting to his paws and sitting down on the edge of the road. dragging himself to the corner and sitting, squished to the side of the sidepath and dragging his long, black tail with feathers on the end of it into his paws, stroking it and sniffling slightly, swift got to his paws. sluggishly, he edged out slightly, waiting as a monster yet again rushed past him. whip's of wind swirled around him as swift kept himself close to the wall. there was the space. a small, slow-going car was pootering along, with a elder-looking creature. it looked like the things he saw, tall things, that had walked past him, with tight things that covered their legs to their big paws, that covered themselfs with fabric and a coat that he couldn't tell what they where, that wore floaty things that you could see up, that wore hats, and tops, and bags on their backs, and around their arms.
the world was a huge, fearful place for something so small as meio's without a owner.
it wasn't a nice place to be. so looking at the car, still looking like a giant monster to him, swift got himself ready to run across this long line of ground, that hurt the paws slightly.
scampering along the road, ignoring the slightly annoying picks of pain that would edge in his paws every now and then, swift had somehow managed to cross a road without getting run over.
still, the old-looking car was still age's away, with loud honk's echoing around it and the eager uproar of chatter around him. jumping into the air and latching his paws onto the side, attempting to push himself up with his back paws, swift -yet again-, failed at attempting to climb and drop a road.
then again, three times did the charm.
after about two tries of swift scrambling, landing, hissing at the wall, cursing colourful words, like 'you low-lifed moldy berry.' and 'featherless-tailed scandal', swift gave up on attempting to climb up the 'wall' as it was in his mind, or the curb as it was for us, and sighed.
under him, the ground was orange, with large black markings. squishing himself next to the 'wall' and starting to walk, swift shook his head. he would have to find a dip, or a flower to climb, or something.
about five minutes later, continuing to mutter to himself about how stupid the wall was, and freezing as a bike had went past him, swift finally managed to scramble himself up a slightly broken bit of pavement, using the broken bits to cling on, and using his paws to push himself up, the male clung on to what seemed his dear life, and flattening himself on the jagged side of the pavement, swift scrambled forwards a pawstep or two, before getting to his paws and weaving his way through the many feet. about six of them.
trotting into grass, that seemed twice the size of him, the male flattened himself out onto the ground, his breathing rough.
taking in a deep breath, and out, and in, and out, and back in, before turning on his back and putting his paws on his chest.
barely all he could see, was tall grass, and a sky. with his tail by his feet, and his paws on his chest, swift started to think of himself.
' i shouldn't of left my owner's side. it was stupid. if i hadn't of tried to annoy vivi by playing tricks on her.'
with a small awkward sigh, swift continued to look at the sky, before turning onto his belly and pushing himself up, and crawling to the edge of the grass near a old oak tree.
the trunk of the tree gave shelter from the wind. and with a small heave, the male rest his hand on his paws and look out at the feet and the cars.
