"Rowanscar is that you?" I asked still delirious. I reached out with my paw to the closet cat

He turned to Rowanscar. "That's enough. Don't give them the power to hurt you anymore." He looked back at Wolfstar, stepping closer to the so-called leader. "You're not even going to say anything?" He sneered. "CloudClan, your leader cares so little about you that he doesn't care if a kit runs away, or that his closest friend now despises him." He got even closer, so his nose was almost touching Wolfstar's. "What a disgusting, horribly deceptive cat." His last sentence was so low only the tom in front of him could hear.

He looked down at his paws slightly ashamed, angry, and sad. "I didn't know Rowanscar couldn't speak for herself." He spat directly in Burningleaf's face.

"Yes, it's me mothe-I mean Brokenwillow." She whispered and lifted her gaze. "Leave him, Burningleaf, he isn't worth it and I learned that the hard way. She is broken, her heart I mean."

He heard Rowanscar's words, but they didn't truly register. He was furious with Wolfstar. In a sharp movement, he raked his claws along his smug face, just enough to disorient him. He looked at the other cats and backed away into the shadows, climbing a tree once he was out of their sight so they couldn't reach him if they chased.
