Hickorypaw felt as if his heart had been ripped out by the Dark Forest themselves. Jaypaw and Carppaw, his own friends, had tricked him. The tabby felt tears run down his face as he ran off, his paws pounding on the ground.

Rainpaw smiled, "th-thanks!" He huffed and puffed, using his legs and trying to put all of his strength into his swimming

The apprentice crawled underneath the ferns and curled up tight into a ball and sobbed silently. I hate Carppaw! I hate Jaypaw! I wish I hadn't gone to this forest, then I wouldn't have met those fox-hearts.
