Flamepaw nodded. She paused to take a drink from the stream. "Okay," she meowed. She sniffed the air. "Rabbits, mice...and fish?" She looked at Sparrowpaw. "You can't smell fish from here right? Since they're in the water?" She looked at Sparrowpaw confused.

He smiled and nodded "yes I'm fine and maybe we could catch some together" he mewed, his paws felt hot still from embarrassment.

Moonfeather eyes lit up with excitement as she happily replied, "I would love to!" She bumped the tom's shoulder as she started to walk deeper into the dense brush of the forest, "Come on, I know a great place to hunt."

Just as Badgerpaw set a paw onto the camp territory another scent struck him. Badgerpaw inhaled deeply, smiled, and disappeared into the brush. A heart beat later his tiny tabby body shot out of the tall grass. His claws outstretched, just barely grasping a squealing red squirrel. Badgerpaw stood in his tracks, looking proudly down at the dead animal. Badgerpaw bowed his head, silently thanking Starclan for the catch. He gently picked up the rodent and headed back to camp. Badgerpaw bounded into the clearing, "I cau-it! M-fir cach-on m-own!" He mewed happily, his voiced muffled by the squirrel. He dropped the squirrel in front of the fresh kill pile, his eyes bright with pride.

He smiled and walked with her "ok where we off to?" He asked happily.
Sparrowpaw
He looked around and then turned back to flamepaw "yup there is rabbits and mice and fish too but fish you don't really smell you usually have to see to hunt them, so watch what I do" he said with a smile and jumped onto a rock that was in the middle of the stream. He kept balanced and low to the rock, water splashed up at it making it slippery his claws gripped it tightly. He looked back to flamepaw "ok so you want to wait and spot your pray first. Then once it gets close enough you dig your paw into the water and flip it out onto the back then grab it and hold it down so it won't flop into the water again" he smiled and did exactly that. "Or if you aren't afraid to get wet you can do this," he jumped onto the rock again and got steady watching the fish swim around. "You watch one ou want and when you feel ready pounce and catch it in the water." He jumped in and bit onto a scaly fish and wadded back to the bank. He set it down by the other one with a smile and shook off getting flamepaw wet. "Though you may get a little wet it's worth it!" He chuckled.

"Brightpaw!" Badgerpaw exclaimed, hoping in front of the she cat "I just caught my first catch on my own! It was this huge red squirrel and- Oh and I know I should have caught it a while ago because I'm older I could have, but I was apprenticed late because I was too small" He grinned, talking quickly.

She looked at badgerpaw with a smile "oh nice!" She exclaimed happy for him. "Could we talk badgerpaw? I mean your one of my best friends in the clan and I trust you to tell you this" she mewed softly with sparkling pleading eyes.

Flamepaw laughed and took a step backwards, avoiding most of the water, but still getting a little wet. "Okay," she said, still laughing. She jumped towards one of the rocks in the middle of the stream, gracefully landing on the rock. She looked down at the water, watching a fish that swam by. "So I just wait until one comes close enough for me to catch?" she asked, watching the surface of the water.

Badgerpaw beamed proudly, finally calming. His eyes softened, "Sure, Brightpaw. What is it?"

She sat down across from him with a slight smile "well I have to say that that I um like you" she looked away awkwardly her heart pounding "it's just we have been so close and your really nice and and..." She froze a bit "I'm sorry badgerpaw I just had to tell you..." She sighed
