At Bluepaw's yowl, Doveroot jumped up from her nest, grabbing herbs for what she might be needed. As she entered the clearing the stench of death hit her and her eyes traveled over to Shiverpaw's body and glanced up at Bluepaw. "It wasn't Falconpaw," she murmured, grieving for her apprentice. "Their's nothing to do, someone from the clan had to murder her," she meowed, glancing around at the clan, fear in her eyes of the unknown.

The cry jolted Windsong to her paws, concern filling her heart as she quickly trotted outside to the clearing. one sniff, and the queen knew what had occurred. Slowly stepping to Bluepaw, Windsong gently nudged her with her nose. "I'm sorry,
I didn't hear anyone last night..."

Shiverpaw! Voices flooded into her ears at the break of dawn, her kit's name hooking her attention like a claw to her pelt. Her ears twitched as she tried to process the information. The black tabby jumped, stumbling over the sleeping forms of her Clanmates as she went to investigate. The awful acent of blood and death hit her from the direction of the medicine den. Three cats were gathered around a limp body; Yewbriar let a wail escape from her choked-up throat. The deputy's apprentice, her own apprentice, and her daughter had all been lost in the span of less than a half-moon.

Finchblossom jolted awake, his blood-soaked dreams feeling very real as the yowls of his imagination melded with the screams of his clanmates. He ran out of his nest, scattering bits of reeds to the side in his panic. The brown tom stopped outside the medicine den, his chest heaving. "No, nonononono..." he murmured under his breath, his pupils contracting. Another cat had died.

FireFeather woke up by the sound of his mates cry snapping him to attention. In the past just few days, there has been murder and deceit. Now, there was a wail that sounded more painful than anything ripping from his mates throat.
He dashed out of the warrior den and quickly came to YewBriars side. As he pushed his way to her, he suddenly felt the same pain. Pain that gripped hard at his heart.
They had been wrong about the murderer, and now his own daughter paid the price for this error.

Breezefire could hear screeches coming from directly outside the medicine cat den. She pounded towards the noise in fear. When she saw the crowd, she knew it was another murder. "What happened?" she asked. It's another murder you mouse-brain. she thought. Breezefire pushed through the crowd of cats and saw a lifeless Shiverpaw, and deathberries mixed in fish vomit. "Why would a cat kill a medicine cat?!" she yowled.

Bluepaw dipped her head. Every cat that had either been exiled, or killed, was an apprentice. Would this make her a target? Would she die next? What was the motive? Why would anybody even think of doing this. Would she survive? No the less, she kept her mouth shut as she stared at Shiverpaw tears touching her eyes, and dripping the the ground, wetting the dirt.

Coldgaze had been shocked awake by the clamors of distressed yowls and crying heard just outside the den, the white tom quickly jumped to his paws and bounded towards the rest of his mourning Clan, stopping just beside his sister Breezefire just her own yowl joined the others. His bi-colored eyes widened in horror upon seeing the lifeless body of the medicine cat apprentice at everyone's feet. "How could this... why?" He croaked, dumbfounded.
