Thorntongue returned to camp. She herd Firepaw's complaints. But what was done was done.

Firepaw: *he stayed still. he wasn't going to move from where he sat. he heard his sister Rosekit plead for him to stop but he ignored his sister's ghostly cries*

Thornstar shook her head. Her time as a leader was done. She headed for her new den.

Tikiheart saw Firepaw. She walked up to him. "What's wrong Firepaw?" She asked, sounding nice to not further upset the tom.

Firepaw: *he glared at the deputy* you know exactly what is wrong! *he hissed softly*

Tikiheart took a step back. "Well, why are you so upset about it? It's just medicine cat."

Firepaw: i wanted to be a Warrior. to fight for my clan and defend all the cats here. and if i had to die to protect the cats in this clan. *he says frowning* i can't do that if i'm a medicence cat

"Sure you can. There's two of you. Dawnheart and yourself. This isn't a very big clan. You could go and fight because there wouldn't be need for you as a medicine cat. And besides! You can control life and death when no other cat knows how!" Tikiheart mewed encouragingly.

Firepaw: it's not the same *he replies frowning* i want to hunt for my clan. i can't do that if i'm picking herbs like a mouse-brained medicence cat

"Cats can do that for you. And you won't need to do that often!" She meowed. "Hardly anybody's sick here. Any time you want, just go up to Gingerstar and say 'Can I o hunt?'."
