(( Poor Livius indeed! I guess he'll have to settle for being a member of the herd...for now! Bwahaha!

))
Nodding to the herd leader as Canad walked by, he watched the lead stallion go back to grazing. It was a good move. He assumed that it would calm the remaining members of the herd to see him going about a task that required peace and safety to enjoy. His violet eyes flickered back to the newly-christened second-in-command and, for the first time in the longest time, a sprig of envy blossomed in his heart.
Lucky thing... Lucky indeed. He was in the right spot at the right time. His eyelids slitted as he observed the Equid. He noted the stallion's damaged hind leg and filed it away for future mulling. The mare, well...he wasn't quite sure about what to do yet. Of course this stallion, Halo, would prance and strut. Livius readily admitted to himself that it would be hypocritical to judge him in regards to that; he would do the same were he recently promoted. Maybe the mare would fall for the strutting. Sighing slowly, Livius glanced back at the herd. There were other mares.
But not like this one... Abruptly, he decided to play the good sport and slowly walked over to Halo.
"Congratulations, mate. You certainly did a fine job scaring off those humans. Hopefully you won't have to do it again in the future with that leg though, eh?" He did his best to smile sincerely.
(( I wish we had more mares involved with this. Boo. ))
