at her question, the molly thought for a moment or two. "if they're active then it won't be today unless the activity lowers. usually, when it does that indicates you are going to probably have them. they shouldn't be completely still in there though if they're so active, a small kick here or there will still be felt." she explained to the queen. "are you in need of anything?" the medicine cat questioned next as she glanced around the den.

when they returned to camp, he watched her head for the warriors den. "try going out with one of the patrols if they haven't left yet." the tom said to her when she was still within ear shot. afterwards, his gaze turned to sprucepaw talking to watershade. as he approached, he caught the tail end of the conversation. "now what are we doing?" the tom questioned as his apprentice had asked to join watershade, he could only guess that it was either a border or hunting patrol.

it wasn't long before he heard her following him and then they reached the entrance. it was then that he listened as she attempted to gauge a good direction as not to interrupt anyone. "sounds like a good enough plan then. definately don't want to disturb anyone hunting." liondust said in response as he starting moving in the direction she had suggested.

"Don't even get me started on those clan cats," Cinder scoffs, rolling her eyes. "One just asked if I wanted to join! As if!" Just the mere mention of the clan made her pelt bristle. She was not normally one to get like this but the way they had treated Sun left a bad taste in her mouth.

Cloudcover bounded after Liondust, keeping her pawsteps quiet and her maw open to scent for prey. She kept an eye on the forest floor, stepping over leaves every so often in order to avoid alerting any small animals in the vicinity. The cold air made her eyes water and stung her lungs, but she continued to move forwards, realizing more and more that prey was scarce today.

Watershade mumbled as Sprucepaw answered Bearclaw’s question directed towards him. When the apprentice ran off excitedly, he attemped to tell him to hold on, but the words died in his throat. ”Sp... ah... um.” He shook his head roughly then struggled to focus his eyes on the other cats. ”Hn, You two can go hunting, and I’ll take Peonydawn and Hollyblossom to hunt too... as well.” He addressed Bearclaw, figuring that would be enough patrols for the morning. He knew he was running nearly every cat, but with both leafbare and two litters just around the corner, Watershade was aiming to have the clan catch enough prey for everyone to be well fed.

Leaves crunched underpaw in an irregular rhythm. Occasionally, it would start and stop again, but the pawsteps definitely had purpose. The inconsistent rustling was accompanied by a muffled dragging noise, which would start and stop in accordance to the strange gait. A harsh, bubbling noise topped off the set of unsettling noises, perhaps resembling the rasp of a elder cat fighting greencough.

Stumbling, regaining balance, unfocused eyes, a low groan as it stumbled again. Paws tangled with other paws, tearing rotten flesh, leaving a breadcrumb trail of loose fur behind. A short moment of focus, lost to a consuming haze which only felt hunger. The ears were gone, only twitching voids left in their stead. One led all the way down, connecting to the maw in a contorted smile filled with teeth and bone. These teeth gnashed, worn down to stubs from constant grinding in attempt to sate the starvation.

An apprentice, or what could have been. It drug one of it's back legs behind it, mangled and broken. Dark, streaking paths led down it's face from the cloudy eyes, as if there had been tears shed at one point. It tossed it's head back and forth, dragging in distorted breaths to assess the air around it. Something, it could smell something... That it liked. Unsteadily careening closer and closer, tearing through bushes and leaving even more of itself behind.

It approached a fox den. It could hear something inside. If it had any reason left, it would know that these noises were voices conversing. But it only knew that it was approaching life, a treat, something that it missed in a far away, almost silent, muffled thought.

Hollyblossom’s ears pricked as she walked towards Watershade, ready to go on patrol. “I don’t mind patrolling.” She said. Although her mind was now on Eeriestar as the warrior wondered how she was doing. Was she close to having her kits? Probably not if Watershade was going out on patrol.

Cinder pauses, pulling a face as the scent of death drifts towards her. Her ears perk as she hears movement outside her den. "Something's here..." She meows quietly, her gaze fixed on the dens entrance. She knew what it was. It was what had attacked the clan so long ago. Those disgusting, crowfood cats that still walked even after death. She had no idea how to deal with them, how can you kill what's already dead?

She watched silently as the deputy organised the patrols, flicking her ears towars each cats who walked to him to join the patrol or at last have something to do. She could not do anything than smile to the caos around her, after the dead of Crowstar the daily duties was becomed a one big mess, clan needed to feed, borders needed to check, apprentices needed to train, but only think was that no cat could not leave the camp alone. Sighing she didn't envy watershade's position as a deputy at all, this certainly was very stressful for him and Eeriestar's pregnancy dind't really help the thinks either.

She narrowed her eyes at the deputy's words to go to wake her mentor Skypulse, it make her very disappointed and little angry "I am eleven moons old, I can go out patroling without my mentor you know" she meowed lashing her tail, but tryed to calm herself, before talking more with the deputy. She looked over the cats around there "so which group I am going to? maybe you? as you're taking only she-cat with you..."she meowed looking over the black tom.

Watershade’s brows furrowed as Serpentpaw questioned him. ”Your mentor will go with you when you leave the camp until you are a warrior. You will be part of Sprucepaw and Bearclaw’s patrol.” He towered over the apprentice for a moment, glowering, before he turned away with a huff. ”Let’s head out.” As he passed Sprucepaw to get to the camp entrance, he gave the apprentice a wide berth, almost avoiding him altogether. After exiting the camp, Watershade paused to take in a deep breath to cool off, tail stub writhing behind him. He took off at a trot, head raised to catch any hint of prey.

Hollyblossom padded close by Watershade. She thought It wise to stick close together. She was still shocked at the way Serpentpaw had talked to Watershade. Hollyblossom wouldn’t dream of talking to anyone like that. Remaining alert, she kept pace with the group.
