Ashenthroat nodded. "Sounds good. the other day i thought i smelled a fox around the east side of our border, so we should make our way there to check." she reported to Swanflight. She gestured her tail for Brightblaze to follow her and Swanflight as they exited the camp.

maybe the patrol could get into a fight with the fox? A little action? i think someone had the idea for this is the discussion thread.

"I'm not! You need to identify what a real kit going out of camp for the first time sounds like. I'm nowhere near that!" Emberpaw remarked. "And I'm more mature than other apprentices! They don't want to go alone, do they?"

should we just start with everyone first waking up? We can assign a patrol to go out and hunt and another to go around the borders and make sure everything is ok and maybe the border patrol runs into a fox mother and a couple cubs? That could add to some excitement and get everyone involved! Aaand then we could send the apprentices with their mentors to do some battle practice?

The tabby's ears twitched at Ashenthroat's report. "A fox?" She repeated. "That's not good. we need to keep an eye out for it then while we're out there. It could easily snatch up one of the apprentices, or even a full grown cat if it's hungry enough." She lashed her tail in agitation. Much like any cat she wasn't a fan of foxes and wanted this smelly creature out of the territory as soon as possible. "We might have to run it out of we have to. If we're lucky it might have just been passing through but if not, we're definitely going to have to do something about it."

{ yeah the idea was mine lol ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ If you guys want we can go through with that and maybe we could have one cat run back for help? That way we can get more people involved. Maybe the hunting patrol could be nearby when the fox attack happens and rushes over to help because it turns out there's actually three foxes (the mother and two nearly grown cubs)? }

Ashenthroat nodded. "I only scented one- but it was a female, so she may have cubs. But the scent was somewhat old, so i couldn't make out if she had a milk scent or not." Ashenthroat told Swanflight. Her heart thumped faster. She didn't like the idea of handling a fox, especially not a mother fox.

Yeah i made ashenthroat say only one fox b/c the mother would be hunting alone maybe. But yeah that sounds fun :3

{ yeah since she said they had only smelled one fox, the cubs could run up later and sort of ambush the patrol so we can make it seem like they all had no idea there were that many. That could work too ^u^ }

Swanflight nodded in acknowledgement to the other she-cat, praying with all her might to StarClan that the fox had only been passing through. If she had decided to stay and she truly did have cubs with her, there was going to be big trouble and some cats might get hurt in the process. "We'll just have to hope they aren't planning on sticking around, but keep your senses sharp in case of anything." She replied. They were already about halfway to the falls and so far all had been calm. "Has there been any sign of rogues around here? I heard there are still some cats wandering around the borders and I've scented a couple this past moon." she asked as they trudged through the undergrowth. "Seems like everybody has been stopping by to visit." she said with an annoyed mew.

"We can not dwell in the past Eveningpaw, how it your hind leg by the way? Could you be able to collect some more herbs?" The she-cat spoke softly to her apprentice, before looking at the herbs piles that were low. "I think we will be needing more Horsetail, and Watermint. Do you, remember what they are used for?" She meowed.

"Going alone would be a problem, what if there was a pack of rouges? Or a Fox? You shouldn't run or else I'd find its way to camp." She sighed at her apprentices comment. Dawnfire padded ahead of him till they reached a river, she sat down and looked over at Emberpaw. "An easy way to catch fish is when they are by the edges of the rivers, Sometimes there are plants that grow by the edges in the river." She looked over to a fish swimming back in forth while two others swam by. She unsheathed her paw and struck the fish out of the water, landing by Emberpaw. "Careful, because they jump out of the water." Dawnfire meowed.
