Dustcloud nodded to Foxheart in acknowledgement. After Viperstar's death, the two older male warriors had grown closer than ever. They both wanted what was right for the clan and would stand by their new leader through it all.

Skystream's pretty flank stood out against the green, dew covered grass. The early morning sun lit up her face, and as she walked towards the river, she knew the day would be a nice one. Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she spotted what appeared to be a curled up ball of fluff. Intrigued, she took a few steps closer. It seemed to be.. breathing? Although it was raspy and heavy, like it was on it's last legs. Skystream nosed it gently, before taking a quick step back as a young cat turned it's obviously sick face to her. She let out a small gasp in surprise, before pacing around the kit. "Um.. are you okay?" She asked politely.

Fishpool's short yet long body touched the grass, sending tingles up her spine and covering her stomach in dew drops. She leaped with skill and landed perfectly on her target. Both her and Talonwind were older and wiser since Viperstar's death, however Fishpool was definitely quieter. Viperstar had longed for her to take after him as leader, but many doubted that would happen as Fishpool seemed to have lost her spark. 'Even Talonwind thinks so.' She thought to herself. Picking up the blackbird, she wandered back over, noticing he had caught something too.

Finchflight woke up and licked her chest fur. She glanced around and noticed Daystripe was awake. The queen narrowed her eyes.

Daystripe noticed that Finchflight was awake. "Hey! Do you want some fresh kill?"

Finchflight faultered slightly. She had been skittish and hesitant to speak to other cats since her mates death not so long ago. She sighed and finally made her mind up. "Yes, thanks, Daystripe,"

Daystripe Saw sadness in the queens eyes as she padded out of the nursery to go to the fresh kill pile. "What would you like?"

"Are you ok?" I ask her, padding forwards "You seem quiet lately" I press my muzzle against her cheek gently, hoping she won't finch away

"Daystream? Finchflight? Patchsong?" I call into the nursery "Lilystream has bought us some fresh kill" I peer at the prey "A young rabbit and a fine squirrel, want to share?"

"What's wrong?" I repeat "Can I help with anything?"

Dustcloud awaited Badgerstar's response. He hoped that his leader was coping - Badgerstar and Viperstar had been really good friends, he knew. It'd be hard for Badgerstar to no longer have someone to look up to.

Fishpool didn't flinch away, but she didn't move any closer either. "I'm fine, I'm probably just thinking too much. You think we could go back to camp now? I want to see Leafstorm." She muttered, picking up her blackbird.
