- *~ Winter's Gaze ~*
Winter's eyes met the lead cow's for only a brief moment, her own lilac gaze glowing with a smile as she was kindly and softly nodded a dismissal. She'd always thought very highly of Wykka, even when she was new. Often times, she trusted her opinion more than any other herd member. There was just something about the cow, something ever so subtly out of step, that caused her to believe that she'd seen far more of the darker side of the world than she was ever going to let on. Winter knew all about that side, and what kind of a mark it can leave on somebody. A kind of mark that gives a touch of wisdom to one's eyes and an outlook on life that nothing else will. And with that thought, and Wykka's polite questions to Thorin drifting into her ears, she turned and was about to quietly depart. But she suddenly felt eyes on her. "Know you, don't I?" She paused, looking back over her shoulder with curiously pricked ears as Thorin watched her. Her eyes were widened slightly at his question, subtly magnifying just how beautiful and unique they really were as he continued. "You're Winter, aren't you?" Her mouth fell open just a hair in bemusement before she could stop it, and the tip of her tail gave a soft fluff to go with the smile that then came to her face. He really did remember her, and even more than she'd originally thought. In one, fluid motion, she turned around to face him, watching with a thoughtful arch to her brow as he now answered Wykka. That's when Darius trotted up next to her. She gave him a sideways glance, smiling in greeting. "Ello there, who's that?" he asked her pleasantly, and she leaned in a little closer to whisper in his ear. Not to hide anything, but to keep from intruding on the other discussion. "That's Thorin, he's the rightful heir to this herd, and has been gone 16 years. We all feared him dead until today." she told the bull in a soft, almost bell-like voice, simply unable to keep her excitement in check. After all, it wasn't every day, or even every year for that matter, that somebody only a few more generations away from being a legend suddenly comes back onto the scene. Her gaze swept back to the two Kirin, just in time to meet Wykka's clean, cerulean gaze with a friendly nod, and then she looked back to Thorin, her eyes meeting his once more. "Yes." she answered him serenely, impressed. She held her head proudly on her creamy, milky shoulders as she added. "You have a very good memory."
