Boreal -
Boreal could hear the morning beginning - his ears flicked, a sudden movement in the semi-darkness. The sound of others moving outside roused him from sleep, his eyes slow to open. Stretching and yawning widely, he made his way to the area where the pack gathered every morning.
The dawn reflected in Boreal's still sleepy eyes, and he stood tall to scent the crisp air. Relaxing slightly, he twitched his ears once more. Black Dawn was nearly here... Despite his attempts to suppress it, a shiver of anticipation rushed over him. The clear air awakened a new energy inside him, and he felt a sudden sense of purpose. Trotting in the direction of the river, he wondered who he would meet first.
Aurore -
She was slow to wake, and even slower to rise.
Aurore's left hind-leg ached, bringing back memories of a snow-filled den and wild panic. She shook her head to clear it, limping across the clearing. Steadily, her shadow made its awkward way to the pond, and she revelled in the clean taste of the water. Her eyes sought out company - as an elder, she often felt lonely, and she missed her own little cubs terribly. Quickly, she diverted her thoughts to more pressing topics. Black Dawn...
What trials would those participating face? Although old, she was relatively new to the pack, and had yet to experience it. Her only wish was for those few to be safe. Sighing deeply, she flicked the last water clinging to her mouth onto her tongue, and turned her gaze skywards.
