"Hello." Whiteleaf dipped her head to the two cats. "The cats that gave lives to Loststar must take them back - except for one, so he doesn't die. Then, I and Whitekit will give our lives to our brother. The same goes for Stormstar...if you can ever get him here."

"Oh, I'll get him here." Loststar said through closed teeth.

"This will hurt," Whiteleaf warned. She nodded to the cats who gave him lives. "You know what to do."

All nine cats circled around LostStar.I hope this is worth it.... He thought. One by one each cat came up and touched foreheads, taking his lives. He fell on his belly when the last life was taken.
