Star
Star nodded, then snorted at the approaching humans. Suddenly he realized something. Something, or someone had made one of the humans see illusions. If Star could make that human think that was him who did it by 'talking' to him, he might be able to get him and the rest of the humans to stop. Instantly he made his thoughts rough, so when the human heard them the would be harsh and mean, and thought to George, 'I wouldn't touch those foals if I were you...'

Sasha
Sasha reared, hooves pawing the air, the rope around her neck too tight for comfort and the only thing holding her back. She knew none of her powers would help, invisibility didn't make her disappear completely. But suddenly she heard crackling from the tree, and she was sure it was the branch that held her.

Joe
"But if humans capture all the horses, they take all the fun out of it for us." Joe commented, then chuckled at Than's comment about the horses nearly being at the stream which had the 'cure'.
"Well, we can either let them get it, hide it by making an illusion around it, or make lots of illusion ones, or just plain keep them away somehow."

~George~
George froze mid grab, his mind hearing a harsh voice growl into his mind. The voice sounded rough and mean, like it belonged to someone who wouldn't want to waltz through a park, eating some chocolate ice cream, and would rather be grinding someone's bones to nothing more than dust.
"Oh, and why would that be?" George challenged back.

~Than~
"But if humans capture all the horses, they take all the fun out of it for us," Than paused, thinking, than nodded in agreement. "Right you are Joe, right you are," He muttered, his ears swiveling around.
"Yes, messing with them sounds like a plan, but I did have another idea, too." Than began, his gaze traveling to the sky.
"We could do a bargain with them. Oh, they could have to cure," A cruel smile made it's way up on Than's already cold features, and if Than was a human, his fingers would be crossed. "But to 'have' it, they would have to give up something," He paused again, watching as dark clouds began to roll over the sun. "Give up one of their lives, to be precise. One of them would have to die for the cure."

Star
'Because if you do, there might just be some... How should I say, Unpleasant consequences?' Star's thought growled. Each word was like a screech of nails on a blackboard, so altogether it was not a pleasant thought to hear.

Joe
Joe's ears went back at Than's suggestion, because cruel as Joe was, he was not a killer, "Are you sure that's such a good idea? They would never agree, and this isn't the only place the flower grows, they would just go elsewhere for it." Joe countered. Having spied on the group of horses a couple of times, he was almost certain they would refuse that sort of deal.

Willow
Willow broke into a trot to warm back up, the wind was cold and biting, so trotting was really the only way to stay warm. "We are almost there!" she said brightly, looking back at the two behind her.

~George~
If he could have, George would have put his hands over his ears, but the position he was prevented that. The only thing he could do was snap back a reply. But he didn't do that.
"Fine. I won't touch them. And it's not because of your consequences, either." George replied wearily. Why was he saying that? The whole point that he was here was to studying these odd creatures, who looked like horses, but yet completely out of this world. Maybe he was saying this because of everything that just had happened.

~Than~
"Are you sure that's such a good idea? They would never agree, and this isn't the only place the flower grows, they would just go elsewhere for it." Than said nothing for several moments. He regarded Joe, his cold eyes studying Joe's. No, Joe was not like Than, in many ways. He could be cruel, as could Than, but Joe didn't enjoy killing.
Than himself wasn't some predatory animal that went prowling around, killing any creature on whim. But his evil nature spiked urges to kill, or at least cause pain. What had provoked that in him? His parents?
Than mentally laughed at that thought. Oh, his parents. Did his mother and father raise him to be like this? Perhaps they, perhaps they didn't. Than's foal hood seemed like such a distant memory. It was like a dream you struggled to remember, but failed to grasp it, only managing to snap certain pieces of it, which didn't help to remember the full dream. Had his foal hood been that long ago? Or had Than's corrupted mind just erased it from his brain?
"Yes, you are right, Joe. They would most likely just find it elsewhere. No, I suppose it's not such a grand idea, after all," Than finally said. He noticed Joe's ears went back at his idea. "We can just prevent them from reaching it through illusions."
Than would have killed the horses, as he already wanted to. Killing the horses would be a great pleasure to him. But, as Joe didn't seem to want to, Than wouldn't. Not yet, anyway.
The Sickness took care of most of the valley's inhabitants anyway. Than thought to himself, his gaze moving towards the trail again.

~Blood Tip~
Blood Tip looked at Willow's bright face, and he couldn't but help crack a small smile. After they found the cure, Blood Tip would have regret in his heart for as long as he lived. Leaving, would be near impossible for the stallion, but he would.
Why should I leave? He thought sullenly, gaze flicking to the ground. Because, everywhere you go, you only see pain. A voice in his head argued back. Blood Tip only sighed sadly, moving into a trot to keep up with the two.

((Random idea, seeing as most of the time Willow can spot an illusion, maybe she should actually find the flower somehow, and Than end up capturing her/going to kill her? Tip could then 'have a purpose'))

Star
Star's thought softened, 'Good. Now tell the others to stop, and let both the foals and the mare go. If you recapture them, you recapture them, but you must first let them go.'

Joe
Joe was suspicious at Than's sudden change, but nodded, "How should we do that though? Hide the stream? Hide the flower? Make there be lots of flowers?" Joe asked a lot of questions, but he found that the more questions that were asked, the better the result was.

((Sounds good to me. So Than could capture Willow after she found the cure, making Blood Tip pretty upset, who would then come after Than to find Willow?))

~George~
The scientist didn't reply, only narrowed his eyes. After a moment, he let his hands drop, pushing himself into a sitting position. He turned to look at Alison and Jacob, putting up his hand in a stopping motion. "Stop," He said, turning to look at the two young ones, than at the mare.
"We're letting them go," He finally said. George knew the others would be furious, but like the voice said, they could sometime recapture them.

~Than~
"How should we do that though? Hide the stream? Hide the flower? Make there be lots of flowers?" The dark stallion considered the options for a moment, then nodded, as if confirming his thoughts. "We can put the illusion of many flowers," He said, liking the idea of the group trying to find the right, real flower, but failing.
Than turned slightly, taking a step back towards the trail, leading down to the stream. Perking his ears up, Than could hear the gurgle of the water as it moved over the rocks in it, bubbling over them. His mind pictured the flower, it's soft features looking odd in the harsh surroundings.
Funny, He thought. How such a delicate thing could survive here.

((Yea, something like that. And yea, that sounds good, how about maybe Willow tells them not to worry about her, to get the flower to Blizzard, so they go, but at night maybe Tip slips away to look for her? Seeing he was thinking of leaving the group, it might work.))

Alison
About to grab a foals rope, Alison stopped herself at George's command, "WHAT?" Alison raged, eyes glaring at George. If looks could kill, he would be dead, "Why on earth should we let them get away?! Next you'll say we have to free the mare too!" Snow began melting everywhere Alison's eyes flicked, and a snow-covered leaf began burning, though it was quickly smothered by the rest of the snow around it.

Joe
Joe nodded, his eyes sparkling deviously. Suddenly a few flowers popped up on the ground, and a few more followed. Joe looked at Than, "You will have to help if we are to get a lot, because I assume you will also want to watch, so we will have to hide ourselves."

Willow
Focusing into the distance, Willow saw the flower, shining bright in the sun. Suddenly, around it, a bunch of others sprang up. Peering closer, Willow could just tell that they looked 'wrong' somehow, but she didn't know how. But she didn't mention it, just kept focusing on the real flower, so she or the others might be able to find it.

((That sounds like a plan to me.))

~George~
George watched as Alison, as he expected became outraged. He flinched away from her glare, slowly staggering to his feet."Why on earth should we let them get away?! Next you'll say we have to free the mare too!" George winced again, knowing he was probably going to die in a few moments.
"Well, actually..." He trailed off, seeing a horribly seething look from Jacob. The hunter looked like he wanted top whip out his hunting blade he kept with him, and use it on George. Taking a deep breath, the confused and weary scientist nodded.
"Yes, we need to let the mare go too," Was all he said, before gaping at the ground around them. Snow was melting everywhere, beginning to show the bare ground underneath.

~Than~
Than focused his mind around the stream, making the flower pop up in multiple different places. He turned towards Joe, then, nodding. "We could put up an illusion of a large boulder, making so only we can see through it," Than mused aloud. "Or, if you have any ideas." He motioned towards Joe.

((So, just wondering, is George the 'leader' of the expedition? I was just thinking maybe he should be in charge, then he can yell at Alison. ))

Joe
"Yea, that sounds good." Joe said, "You make it, and I'll do all the flowers, if you want." Joe nodded, focusing on a couple more flowers, making more pop up, "They are coming! We should hide."

Alison
Alison cursed, glaring at George, "You may not appreciate the work that has gone into catching these horses, but I do. And I am not letting them go." she said, though her voice was not as loud as before, mainly so she wouldn't scare the foals. She never even noticed the ground, now bare of snow everywhere she had looked. But as she had lowered her voice, she had calmed down, so her eyes no longer had the ability to burn.

Star
Star nudged Firefly, "We should go!" he nickered, quietly enough that the humans wouldn't be able to hear.

((Well, I'm not sure. I guess he could be. But even so, here comes yelling time! ))

~George~
George listened to what Alison said, ignoring her glaring eyes and staring hard the ground. As Alison was talking, George could feel the rage bubble up inside him. Finally, he couldn't contain it.
"Oh yes you are, Alison. We are letting these horses go. And I care, oh yes, I care. I don't want to let them go! All the work we put into this? All of us! Do you think I'm happy about blowing it all off?" George's face was turning a deep red, the way it did when he was angry.
"I'm not! I regret saying these words, but I am! We are letting them go!" His voice level had risen to a yell, and his hands were trembling slightly.
Maybe, if you knew what I saw and heard, you might just understand. He thought, turning his back to Jacob and Alison.

~Than~
Than imagined a large boulder, and soon one appeared. As he had said, they could see through it, but no one could on the other side.
He heard Joe's warning, and moved so the boulder was hiding him. He waited for Joe, peering through the boulder towards the stream.

~Autumn~
"Oh!" Autumn said, startled, and looking at Star. Realizing what he meant, she nodded. "Yes, right." Turning, she glimpsed the mare, and motioned to Star.
"We should help her get out of that. Plus, I think she came for you."
