The she-cat snorted in amusement. "Oh, it is. It's harder than they say." She purred. "But after
that, you won't regret a second of the pain that you endured." She mewled gently, her eyes
flashing with memories and love of her surviving kits. The she-cat then tensed, her fur bristling.
"It's wonderful being a mother." She concluded in a whisper.

She let out an amused chuckle, "I suppose any kind of pain would be worth seeing the faces of your kits."

Soulpaw suddenly entered Iceflower's den through the entrence, carrying a leaf wrap of herbs.

"You have no idea." The chocolate tortoiseshell she-cat mewled gently, her eyes closing. "Well, let's
hope all goes well. Speaking of kits, shouldn't Foxtuft be back by now? Didn't he just go on a border
patrol or something?" Mottledstone grunted, her ears flat against her dappled head.

The white and silver she-cat looked up at her son, smiling weakly and tiredly, though she looked
completely healthy. "Oh, Soulpaw." She mewled gently, purring. "Do you think I can get back to
camp now?" She asked, not moving a mouse-length until he told her to.

The tom looked over, his green eyes twinkling with a quick sign of affection. "We'll do whatever
it takes to get her back to camp, dead, alive, injured, or worse." He said gently, then looked
back to the group. "The trail is right over the creek that falls from the mountain's big cliff, and
we're going to split up into two groups. One in the trees, another on foot. Like the normal
patrols." He mewled. "Foxtuft, Squirrelpaw and Redheart, you two will be in the trees. As for
me Creektail and Wolfsplash, we'll be on the ground." He said, then flicked his tail-tip,
signaling the cats to begin moving.

Foxtuft snorted. He think's he's the deputy, doesn't he? The tom thought in amusement, nodding
quickly and darting up into a tree as Nettleburr flicked his tail in signal. He peered throguh trees,
hoping to get a better look at the trail before them.

Creektail was quite fond of his determination, even though the worst could be happening as they positioned themselves along the trail. "Hopefully we'll reach her before something else finds her.. or even someone else," she muttered lowly to herself towards the end. What would become of Softwillow if another cat or creature had found her before they could even climb the path? /Maybe Foxtuft will spot her from the trees, or Nettleburr scents her! StarClan watch over her,'/ She moved along Nettleburr's side, weaving and ducking through the mountain's features. Her paw pads ached slightly, but an image keep pushing her forward into the unknown.

Nettleburr moved back to let Wolfsplash take lead of the ground patrol, and brushed his pelt
against Creektail's. "Do you have any ideas on what we should do if or when we find Softwillow?"
The tortie tom asked her, giving a questioning stare.

Creektail began to feel her blood pulse harder when his pelt intertwined with her pelt. "W-well, we should treat any open wounds; prevent any possibility of infections. If she's weak.. maybe assist her with some prey? And if anything we should leave immediately when she can leave or carry her by the scruff if needed." The gray-tabby looked down to the terrain as she padded along. "If she's dead.. then we need to bring her back for proper burial and ceremony."

The tom gave a purr of pride in the she-cat. "Couldn't have said it better." He praised her, nuzzling
her quickly before leaping back to Woflsplash, discussing the situation of carrying Softwillow back
if she was in any bad enough condition. His long legs made him taller than the fluffy gray and white
warrior, his belt sticking out like short thorns.

Soulpaw shook his head, "I'm afraid you will remain here until your strength returns completely, I don't want you catching white cough again and infecting other cats."
