Nizhoni backed away and started to run, but she couldn't leave her friend behind. She looked back but didn't go any farther. The cougar snarled, baring its teeth. He began to slowly circle the pair or foals, never taking his eyes off them. But for some reason, he didn't attack them.

Beleram nudged her quickly in the shoulder. ''Go on, I'll be fine. Run straight to your parents and tell them to come here.'' he snorted quickly then stomped the ground facing the cougar. He kept turning in sync with the predator and narrowed his eyes. Flicking his ears, Beleram shot foreward towards the cougar, it's tawny pelt his target to hit. He bucked in the direction of the cougar, not wanting to hit and harm it in any way, but to scare it off.

Nizhoni nodded and darted off as soon as she got a chance. She ran in the direction of her parents and slipped in the mud, almost losing her footing. "Momma! Daddy! Beleram's Fighting a cougar! Come quickly!" She said as she nudged them awake. She darted off again, back towards Beleram.

Shaman was awake instantly and so was Lucia at the mention of cougar. They raced off after their daughter an came upon the scene. Shaman stood right by Beleram and helped scare the stubborn cougar off.

Two foals was easy. Two foals and two annoyed adults...not an easy meal. The cougar had had enough. He began to back away, snarling all the while.

He watched the cougar leave and raised his head, a little proud of himself that he didn't back down to such a predator. Relieved, Beleram lowered his head to rest. It was now that he realized how easily he could have been killed off, and he probably would have if it wasn't for Shaman arriving. Snorting softly, he raised his head to look at the stallion. ''Thank you. I don't think I was believable in being scary to such a beast.'' He laughed softly at himself before blinking back more rain. As he started walking, Beleram realized how tired he was; his tongue was urging to escape his muzzle in a pant and his sides were swelled, trying to take in as much air as his lungs could take in before he overfilled their capacity. He dragged his tail on the damp ground and walked back to the rock shelter in silence, avoiding any 'congratulations' the three might have wanted to say to him. His head bobbed slightly and Beleram closed his exhausted eyelids, absorbed in focusing on the cool raindrops falling on his tired body.

Nizhoni rolled in the wet grass to get the mud off of her pelt. She wanted to thank Beleram for saving her but by the time she got back to the shelter, he was asleep. She quietly walked over to him and, hoping he wouldn't mind, laid down by him. "Thank you." She said softly, before falling into a deep sleep, not realizing how tired she had become.

Seeing that the two foals were asleep, and after checking to make sure that there were no more cougars nearby, Shaman and Lucia settled down beside each other. "He has a good heart." Lucia said as she looked at Beleram, but speaking to her mate. "That he does. He's a strong colt and he will become a good leader someday. I'm just thankful that he was there when that cougar attacked. He did scare it, otherwise it would have attacked them." Shaman said as they took turns watching for danger throughout the night.

Beleram slept lightly so he could overhear the two adults talking. Despite not wanting to be congradulated for his bravery, he couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment after hearing their kind words about him. Attempting not to make any emotion that hinted that he was not yet fully asleep, Beleram rolled over and made a convincing sleepy grunting noise. Now facing the wall he opened his eyes slightly and stared at the dark rock. He could hear the soft breathing of Nizhoni beside him and relaxed again, trying to go to sleep heavily this time.
In a matter of minutes, he was fast asleep.

Caelan laughed, "You wont want us to bring them once you know what they are," he said with a sly grin. "Kunjo has been pranked by me, so he knows first hand how brutal they can be right bro?," he shot a look in Kunjos direction, simply checking if he was coming or not. "Keep up you lot, I knew I was fast but at this rate I could run around the world in the time it took you to get home!" again the colt laughed then reduced it to a charming smile.
