Breezefire woke up, and once again, ran to the apprentice's den. None of my kits are dead. She thought, relieved. But she felt as if another cat had died right next to her. She grabbed a piece of fresh kill and ate it by herself this time, enjoying the rising sun.

The queen was wrapped tightly around her remaining kits, a sad but relieved look that she hadn't lost any more. Listening for noise outside of the nursery, she hoped to locate her mate.

After a few minutes, she heard the little pitter pat of poppykit's trot as she entered the den. By her carelessness, she had not realized that she was missing. "Poppykit! What do you think you were doing out there alone?" She asked, worry drowning out anger.

Whoops. Poppykit’s ears flattened as she stared up at her mother, guiltily. “I was just trying to find Stonefall. I thought I could get a story.” She responded, scuffing a paw on the ground. Absentmindedly, she added “Stonefall wasn’t there though.”

Aphidstar uneasily strolled out of his den, his gaze tired and almost defeated in a way. So far, his new rules were working well to keep his clan safe, but he feared that a kit or apprentice would, in a fit of rebellion, break them and risk becoming the next victim. First, he ducked into the nursery, nodding to himself with a light smile as she saw Windsong and her three remaining kits safe and sound. Next was the apprentices den, which contained just Lilacpaw. Aphidstar froze, then realized something. "Lilacpaw and Nightpaw," he began, making sure to get the young cat's attention. "You're the only apprentices,which means you sleep alone. That won't do...Stonefall doesn't have denmates either..." Aphidstar began musing aloud to himself. "Aha! How about you and Nightpaw move into Stonefall's den at night, at least until this murderer is caught, eh? Safety in numbers, right, Lilacpaw? I'll go inform the others." Without waiting for a response, Aphidstar left the two apprentices, quickly checked the warriors den and feeling relieved as he saw no cats missing. He then circled over to the area where Stonefall slept at night, a secluded den, filled with soft moss. However, the tom was greeted with an empty nest. His stomach became cold as his mind did the calculations. If all the other cats were still in camp, but Stonefall was nowhere to be found...her scent trail didn't lead to the Dirtplace. With a yowl, the brown tom dashed into the center of camp, raising his tail high. "Stonefall has gone out alone! We must find her at once, before..." He didn't have to finish his sentence. "Everyone group up in threes, don't go anywhere alone or with one other cat- we must find her at once!"

Her expression and muscles softened, and she spoke rather gently. "I know it's hard to be so careful right now, but it's what we should do until Aphidstar says otherwise." The voice of the leader hit her ears as she spoke, and the knowledge that Stonefall was really missing caused worry in her heart. "The clan's looking for her right now, she probably just went out for a walk like she always does." The queen assured, knowing that the thought of another close loss to the kit could hurt her even more after the death of her sister. Well, that is, if the elder was even passed on. After all, she was known to be a bit rebellious.

Lilacpaw quickly nodded at the leader as he walked off, and then slowly walked out of her den. Glancing around, she began to walk over to the fresh-kill pile, when she heard others talking about Stonefall and how she wasn't in camp. Dread filled Lilacpaws stomach, and she again felt she couldn't eat. She walked over to some cats talking. "Stonefall's missing? If you guys go look for her, can I come?" Her voice sounded emotionless, as it had since the death of Soulpaw, but you could tell she was concerned.

Batfang watched the clan gather in silence, he hadn't talked much since the exile. Now with another missing he simply padded towards his father and awaited instruction on groups knowing that past events didn't bode well for Stonefalls fate. 'If the killer trullly has struck then at least Robinfeather is safe from them. Starclan let him be okay out there until these killings end.'

Breezefire yawned and Missed her relatives dearly. Robinfeather! Soulpaw! Why did you have to leave when I was loosing hope? she thought, desparate.

When FireFeather awoke, he immediately identified the location of his kits. They were both still safe- that was a relief. LilacPaw seemed preoccupied in talking to AphidStar, who was looking a bit anxious. Was someone else gone?
He knew the leader had also lost a kit, and then had to force his own mate out of camp. It must've been painful, to be honest. FireFeather wouldn't know how to do it himself.
Then he heard cats talking of StoneFall, and it hit him like a pit in his stomach. StoneFall had been BreezeFires parent. How would she be handling this? She grew up in the nursery by StoneFalls belly for goodness sakes.
He quickly located his mate, and padded over to her, resting a tail tip on her shoulder in quiet support.
