Riverclan has lived peacefully along the river for many seasons, but recently
the winds have changed. Starclan has become uneasy and even warriors have
reported spirits trying to contact them through dreams. The clan has become
nervous, wondering what bad omen this could mean. None of them knew that
Starclan was trying to warn them of a killer who was within their midst...

ROLES ARE BEING SENT OUT

Coldpaw looked around before turning back to the river. His mentor, Firefeather,
was nowhere to be seen. That was good, as the apprentice hoped to catch a
fish without anyone helping him. While Coldpaw had always been a relatively
fast runner, and therefore good at chasing down prey, he was not as good when
it came to fishing and it embarrassed him. He was just about to put his paw
into the water when he heard someone walking up to him. He jumped slightly
and turned around, relaxing when he saw who it was.

"How are you?" asked Coldpaw. "I was just about to try fishing on my own." He
gave a glance towards the river and his tail twitched. "Uh, mind helping me?"

The other cat gave a tender smile. "Sure," they said. "Why not."

Coldpaw turned back to the river and put his paw into the water, hoping to
feel the telltale ripple of a nearby fish. He never had the chance, however, as
the other cat lunged at him and pushed him into the river. The apprentice gave
out a panicked scream and thrashed as his lungs took in nothing but water.

"Useless," commented the killer. "From the beginning to the end." They turned
tail and left the drowned apprentice in the river, where he would be discovered
by a patrol.

The first victim has been claimed, Riverclan! Find the killer before it's too
late.

Blossomkit woke up with a yawn. She saw that her siblings and Windsong were still asleep. She let a mew of exitment. She could go wherever she wanted today. Blossomkit padded out of the nursery trying not to wake up her mother. She looked around at the camp with awe.

Lilacpaw awoke with a yawn, her siblings gathered around her. Hmm, odd. She thought glancing around the area. Where's Coldpaw? He usually sleeps right next to me.... maybe he's already out training. Lilacpaw carefully walked out of the den, careful not to step on anyone. She glanced around the clearing, looking for another cat.

Aphidstar slunk out of his den, the weak morning sun glinting off of his amber eyes. He spotted Blossomkit playing in the clearing, and a small smile spread on his face. "Good morning, Blossomkit. Windsong know you're out so early?"

Maplepetal | tagged; no one

Maplepetal walked out of the warrior's den with a flick of her bushy tail. She paused for a moment to stretch out her aching back, feeling a satisfying pop. She then sat down by the den, shredded ears swiveling, face furrowing in thought.
Something about the air smelt off that morning, although she couldn't put a claw on what... Maybe it was the wind...

[doggoesmeow]

Blossomkit spun around to see Aphidstar, the leader. "Umm. Yeah.."The kit lied to the leader unknowingly being very obvious she was lying.

FireFeather woke up late in the morning. He had been out with his apprentice late the night before, taking him on dusk patrol. He was more than happy to let the apprentice sleep in, especially with how hard he had been working recently.
When he got up, he padded out of the den, looking for his apprentice in the clearing. Not there? He flicked his tail in amusement. He must still be asleep. But of course, he can't sleep forever.
He poked his nose into the apprentice den and shouldered his way through. "ColdPaw, wake-" he sighed when he found no trace of his apprentice.
Taking some steps backward, he looked around to see his daughter in the clearing. "LilacPaw, would you know where ColdPaw is? He was supposed to go out today to work on more fighting techniques." He was a proud father, and he enjoyed watching his kits grow up to be strong warriors.
