Murderers in Riverclan V.2 [Roster Update 10/30]

Swiftfoot woke to the sound of Foxstar's voice. He padded out of his nest and somehow, knew that the killer had struck again. His gaze was drawn to the broken body of Lilacpaw. He swallowed and his ears moved backwards of their own accord.

"Why?" he whispered. "Who could do this?" He looked around and saw that Windsong's nest was empty. He made a little whine as he realized that the pregnant queen had either died--and her body hadn't been found--or she had been chased away from the clan. Or maybe she was just out for a walk. He could hope, right?

Silverkit nodded, starting to walk over to the warriors den. Seeing Fadewhisker, she ran to the tom. "Fadewhisker?" She meowed, nudging the warrior.

Once more, the clan found themselves in a tricky situation. Lilacpaw had been found dead by Blastclaws, and Windsong had been presumed dead as well.
Again Foxstar stood tall among his clan, gazing across the sea of eyes before him.
"Riverclan, tragedy has struck us once more. One of our apprentices, Lilacpaw, and our only queen, Windsong, are dead." There were a few murmurs of surprise, but Foxstar glared at his clan to stay quiet.
"It is my duty as leader to find who did this. I know now that it had to be one of us, and that this is no coincidence. Know that when we find you, we will make it known to every clan that you are never welcome here again." He hissed, and the fur on his back began to rise.
"Once more we must decide if we should exile, or abstain."
Everyone seemed to look at each other, confused expressions on their faces.
Burnetwing called from the center of the group, her voice clear and calm. "There isn't enough evidence, Foxstar. We shouldn't exile someone unless we know for certain that they are the killer."
There were a few murmurs of agreement, but one cat stood with their eyes locked on to Foxstar's.
"I still believe it was you. You were Reedstar's deputy, you had to be close to him."
Foxstar shook his head with a sigh, yet stayed quiet.
With that, he leaped from the high-rock and walked to his den. before entering, he meowed a final sentence. "No one will be exiled. As Burnetwing said, there isn't enough evidence."
With a flick of his tail, he left his clan to their thoughts.

No one was exiled Riverclan! Will you catch the killer next time, or will they slip away once more?

It had been several moons from the last kill, and the clan felt safe again. The night sky was covered by clouds as Grassleap led one of his clanmates through the dense forest. They faded through the brush, stopping at a small clearing. The tom took a seat on a flat rock in the center, and the other sat near him.
"Its unlike you to ask for help." Grassleap mewed, his eyes squinted to see the cat in the darkness.
"I'm desperate, Grassleap." The killer wrapped their tail around their paws, a slight growl to their mew. "I wouldn't ask you for help if I didn't need it."
Grassleap dipped his head and got to his paws. "What is it that you wanted to ask me? It must be important for you to bring me... here."
The killer's gaze shifted to the reddish stain that remained on the far edge of the rock. "I wanted to ask about the scene. You were the first to find Reedstar's body.. right?" Their gaze shifted to Grassleap's, and he looked away.
"Reedstar was.. his throat and eyes were slashed."
"I know that part- everyone knows that part. I meant the things you left out."
Grassleaps eyes widened, and he let out a snort. "Left out? I told the clan everything I knew!"
The killer shook their head, and they began walking forward.
Grassleap began to back up, slowly at first. The killer suddenly leapt forward and pinned the medicine cat down.
"You left out the part where you let Reedstar die, right? You stood idly as your leader was murdered right in front of you!"
Grassleap looked shocked, quickly retorting. "It's not my fault that Starclan decided to give me a prophecy at that moment!"
"Prophecy?" The killer smirked, obviously getting what they wanted. "You told of no prophecy."
Grassleap looked confused at first, then he realised his mistake.
"And no one will ever hear of your prophecy."
"You- how did you know about that!? I only- I began telling Reedstar when he- when he was-"
The killer unsheathed their claws, pressing them to his throat.
"You- you must have been there when he died! Why didn't you say anything?"
"Isn't it obvious, Grassleap? I killed him."

The killer was quick in ending Grassleap's life, and cleaned their claws off in the grass. Returning to the camp, they slipped into their den.

lightningtail was growing frustrated as the moons passed by. first the killer took reedstar from them, now they were back and murdered clearheart and lilacpaw while windsong was nowhere to be found. and yet riverclan was divided, no one being able to come to a conclusion over who could be performing the killings, that is, if the killer even was in riverclan in the first place. lightningtail severely needed someone to confide in, she had not been the same after clearheart's death, she missed the white molly more then words could ever say.

padding towards the medicine cat's den, lightningtail wondered if grassleap were awake and was open to speak to her, yet as she peeked inside she could only notice his apprentice silverpaw sleeping in her nest. that's odd, lightningtail noted, grassleap wasn't one to leave unannounced. ignoring the feeling of dread beginning to rise at the back of her mind, the warrior backed out of the den and approached one of her clanmates would was currently awake. "h-have you seen grassleap? he wasn't in his den." she asked them.
