The deputy nodded, peeking back into the apprentices' den and beckoning the smaller apprentice with a flick of her tail.
Fear still lurked in the back of her head, making every step wobbly and every movement tougher than before. She's fine, isn't she? She might have just went out for a morning hunt... or something... right?

The tom nodded, although he felt worried. He wanted to go look for her, to make sure she was alright. But staying at camp and waiting for her return gave him a little hope. Maybe she would return, and maybe she was perfectly fine. But he was almost certain that if she went hunting, she would be back by now. "I hope she's okay." He whispered to himself, watching the entrance.

Stonefall turned, murmuring under her breath. she looked to the deputy, flicking her ears. "Is there anything I can do to help? I'd be more than happy to help look for her."

The tom watched as the cats began to leave to find Lilacpaw. He silently prayed to starclan that they would find her perfectly safe.

(Still abstaining, but I just wanna say why I don't think it's Spiderpaw- in the kill the cat held Lilacpaw down to drown her and that takes a strong cat. Spiderpaw is 1) a medicine apprentice and 2) failed his past warrior training. It doesn't make sense that it'd be Spiderpaw, but I can see that there are a few suggestions to it being him. I just don't personally believe the killer can be someone who failed their warrior training )

there was a soft rustle, then a thud, catching the clan's attention, their eyes drawn to where tanglebelly stood, his green eyes hollow with grief. before him was the body of the small apprentice, the upper half of her body drenched, the corpse of whom he had carried back to the camp.

"she's gone, stormstar."

his voice cracked, and he turned his head. "i went out to get a drink at dawn, and she was lying there on the bank, head in the water."
