~ Halo ~
Halo froze, his eyes darting to the familiar pelts with a wave of relief. Livius and Dolce were back, and with a foal? He blinked a few times as his muscles slowly unknotted, taking it all in before he spoke. "Ahh, yep, that's them." he gave a deep sigh, a small smile slipping onto his face as he lightly shook his head. Canad hadn't been worried, so maybe he shouldn't have gotten so worked up. From that point on, his actions would be decided by the lead's, period. No more thoughtless treks into ablivion. He blew a frustrated puff of air from his nose, shamlessly recovering his sence of dignity, and then carefully manuvered through the tall grass toward Bandit. Boy, he sure felt like a pheasant now, all flighty and nervous like the scattered little meadow bird. And, as he was secretly considering his own skittishness, that's when he heard it. The foal from the river, immitting such a frantic, helpless cry for aid that his heart nearly stopped all together. Followed by a feral screech he'd know practically anywhere. A primal snarl that could freeze the blood of even the most feircome rogue. Couger. First, he was unable to speak, unable to move, as he watched Bandit run to the colt's aid. And then he was running after her at a steady clip, his eyes narrowed and teeth slightly bared for the impending assult he would most certainly face. He'd seen them before, the lethal predators of the mountain range, but never like this. Never so close, and so ready to kill those around him. He skidded to a stop a few feet from Livius, catching the very end of what he'd just said. "We can't let it close to the foals." he told them gravely, keeping all four feet securely braced to the ground. Mane forming a forboding ridge from head to tail, his golden eyes burning, he was ready for anything.
