Applepaw was still frowning before it turned into asmile, "Alright, fine." SHe purred as she nosed her friend before leading the way out into the surrounding territory.

Cinderfrost beamed and followed Applepaw outside. A thin blanket of snow lay on the ground and the silvery-gray queen stuck her muzzle in it delightedly. "Snow! I love snow!"

Applepaw giggled in amusement but shook out her own fur, "I hate snow." She muttered softly. IT had been because of Leafbare and the dreaded green cough that she had lost her father.

"Do you?" Cinderfrost blinked in surprise, as if she couldn't quite believe that anyone could hate snow. "Why?"

Batfang padded into the medicine cat's den and prodded his sister gently with a paw. "Mallowshade? You okay?" he murmured.

Mallowshade sat up with a groan. "I am now. What do you want?"

A hurt expression crept onto Batfang's face, but he forced himself to smile. "Why do I have to want anything? Can't I just want to talk with my sister?"

Applepaw sighed, "Leaf-bare took my father." She murmured quietly, sweeping her tail lightly over the snow, causing a small flurry.

[Cradily]

"Oh. Yeah, that's right...I'm sorry," Cinderfrost mewled quietly as she brushed her muzzle against Applepaw's. "But...it's not like he's gone forever. In fact, he never really was gone to begin with. He just sort of moved away, you know? He's living in StarClan instead of AshClan now. I know that it's hard to lose one of your parents, but you have to remember that, no matter what happens, you will get to see them again." She smiled warmly.

Mallowshade shrugged. "Sure. What do you want to talk about?"

"Er..." Batfang shuffled his paws awkwardly. "Um...Well, for starters, how are you doing? You know, with your..."

"Rabies?"

"Y-yeah, that."

Mallowshade shrugged once again. "I'm fine, I guess. My throat was sore and I've been having bad dreams, but I'm alright. What about you?"

"I'm good!" Kestrelstar purred back. "I mean, I am startin' to worry a lil' bit about our Clan, an' about our kits...Ghostpaw told me that as soon she, Patchpaw, an' Songpaw b'come warriors, they're leavin' to form SkyClan. On top o' that, Birchkit, Amberkit, an' Otterkit went missing for a while, an' Otterkit got hurt durin' that time. I think they're gettin' too caught up in all this flyin' business." He sighed. "I don' want anyone else gettin' injured, an' I don' want our Clanmates' loyalties to be swayed either. When a cat b'comes a warrior of AshClan, they're committin' themselves to AshClan. All this SkyClan stuff jus' don't seem right." He shook his head. "But I know that I shouldn't worry too much 'bout that righ'now. How're you?" He pawed at Ivycloud's ear with a grin.

Seeing that Smudgepaw was starting to grow tired, Milkflower slowed down to allow her apprentice to catch up, and finally stopped altogether. "Good job! You are quite fast for such a young she-cat."

Sully leaped from branch to branch. "C'mon, 'urry up!" he called down to Foxcloud.

Ivycloud nodded, "Yeah. I heard something about that. Otterkit told me that she got hurt from launching herself off a tree, but I think there's more to that. I don't want a clan full of apprentices and kits to lure away clan members." She sighed and shook her head, "I thought they were loyal. I saw Lionblaze and Fireheart there too."

Bearheart looked up and nodded, "Yeah, though probably abandon. No birds would have any babies during leaf bare. I'm not sure."

Fireheart looked at Sandstorm."Let's go. I don't want to take all day. I promised Songpaw I would be there before sun-high today." He meowed.

[Cradily]

"Lionblaze an' Fireheart too?" Kestrelstar groaned. "I don' like this. Not at all. We can't have all our Clanmates abandonin' us to go an' join a Clan of flyin' kits!" He knew that he was overreacting, but he couldn't help it. Clanmates were meant to stick together, not leave each other in the blink of an eye. Otherwise, what was the point of being Clanmates in the first place? What was the point of being a warrior if the promise one made during their warrior ceremony, the promise of defending and protecting their Clan at all costs, was tossed off the edge as soon as something more appealing came along?

"I'm good," Batfang replied. "Has Leopardtail given you anything to treat your illness yet?"

Mallowshade nodded. "She has."

"And has it worked?"

"I don't know."
