Nizhoni perked her ears as the wind blew and shivered slightly. She curled up tighter against the wind to stay warmer. Thunder sounded in the distance as lightning flashed over the mountains. Rain could be heard in the distance, the soft sound captured only by those sharp ears of the Equids who lived there.

Beleram looked up at the sky when thunder crackled through the greying clouds. Out of surprise, Beleram jumped sideways then glared up at the sky snorting annoyed. ''Stupid storms.'' he pouted. Swishing his tail annoyed, he glanced down at Nizhoni to see her shivering. He thought about laying down beside her and covering her small frame with his larger, longer tail to keep some warmth around her but then he looked over in the direction of her parents, ''What if they think I'm coming on to their daughter? Surely I'll be sent away to roam alone again.'' Beleram spoke to himself in a whisper, careful not to wake her from her doze. He was caught inbetween the two choices, weighing down all of the positive and negative aspects of both actions. With a short sigh, the colt decided there would be no such harm in simpley warming her up, her parents would understand... right?
Beleram slowly walked over to her side and stepped over her curled body to stand behind her back. Sighing again, he looked up at the swelled angry clouds before laying down behind her. Beleram flicked his tail over her back and wrapped it around her curled frame. He blinked slowly, sleep finally coming to take ahold of him now that he had laid down and was technically resting. He eyed her closed lids, hoping that he wouldn't wake her as he softly laid his head on her shoulder to rest aswell. As he was starting to doze off, Beleram glanced foreward at the meadow stretched out in front of them. It was the last thing he saw before his eyelids forced themselves shut.

Nizhoni smiled in her sleep and stopped shivering. The thunder rolled and seemed to stay at a point over the mountains for now. A light, cold, drizzle of rain started to fall as the sky darkened even further. Nizhoni pressed slightly against the colt at her back as the rain began to fall. Though it didn't wake her.


Shaman, once again covered in mud due to another one of his mate's tricks, was thankful for the rain as it washed the mud from his pelt. He sighed as he grabbed Lucia's plume and proceeded to drag her back to some shelter by the two foals shelter. Once in the shelter of the rocks, he shook out his wet pelt, smirking when he got Lucia wet. "Do you think they will be okay Shaman?" Lucia asked as she looked towards the two foals, her warm, brown eyes full of comfort and motherly worry. "They should be fine, love." Shaman said as he laid down beside his mate. "Go to sleep, I'll keep watch." he said as he kept a lookout.

Beleram awoke with the thud of rain on his back. He lifted his head slightly to glance up at the rain. A small smile crept across his face, Beleram loved rain. He glanced down at the filly whom was pressed against him. He snorted softly then nipped her gentley on the ear. ''Psst Nizhoni.. it's raining. Perhaps you should go over in the shelter by your parents? You were cold earlier.. and it's only going to get worse.'' he mumbled blinking slowly, trying to wake up from his snooze too. His gaze trailed over to her parents. ''They will keep you more warm than I can anyways.'' He added, shuffling his body away to stand up.

Nizhoni perked an ear and lazily opened one eye to look up at Beleram. "Huh?' She blinked rapidly and shook her head as a drop of rain fell on her nose. "RAIN!!!!!!YAY!!!" she whinnied and jumped up and (as fast as she could with her injury) frolicked in the rain. She smiled as she shook out her brown and white pelt and splashed in the puddles. "C'mon Beleram! Have some fun!" she urged as she laughed. Her golden eyes bright with happiness.

"She definately takes after you in energy, Love." Shaman said to Lucia as he watched his daughter, seemingly energized by the rain, frolick. He smiled and swished his tail in a puddle to splash his mate, smirking when she glared at him. Lucia laughed and nuzzled her mate. "Crazy Stallion." she muttered as she leaned closer to him.

Beleram stood up and stared at the filly. ''Well then, such odd behanviour you have.'' he snorted. Beleram flicked his tail subconciously, a little taken aback by her sudden energy. He blinked still very tiresome; he loved the rain and water but on this particular day he was much too exhausted to frolick, and the fact that a storm was coming set him off from the idea too, no need in risking his life for one day of glorious rain. Beleram squinted his eyes and backed away in the direction of Nizhoni's dam and sire. ''I think I will pass on this occassion, Nizhoni.'' he mumbled, turning his frame to walk towards the shelter Shaman and Lucia were under. As he made his way towards the two, he thought about how much of a bore he had become since having freedom to himself. He no longer enjoyed the energetic activites a yearling like himself should, but he preferred the laid back, matured lifestyle of those older equids he had so come to get used to. That, and adventuring.
Upon reaching the adults, Beleram shook his coat from the chilled rainwater and went to look back at Nizhoni. ''Your daughter.. she's surely an unique filly if I do say so myself.'' he murmured, returning his gaze back to Shaman and Lucia with a small grin. He bobbed his head then walked past the two, to settle in the farthest corner of the shelter to lay down and rest.

Beleram raised his head feeling their glances resting on him. ''I'm fine here. If I was afraid of anyone, I would have been long gone by now.'' he snorted softly. He flicked his tail so it wrapped around him. He glanced to the meadow outside of the shelter and watched the rain flood the grass in little puddles. ''Do you think we will be stuck here until it's over?'' he asked curiously, perking his ears towards the two adults. He shuffled around in his laying position while waiting for an answer.

Nizhoni shrugged as she abruptly sat down and yawned. The drumbeat of the rain on the rocky overhang lulling her into sleep yet again. She sat there with half closed eyelids as she listened to the conversation. Her white plume softly beat the ground in time with the drumbeat of the rain. (couldn't resist, I'm a musician so yeah...XD)

"I hope it will pass soon. It seems to be getting lighter over the mountains, so I think it will move quickly." Shaman said as he shifted his position to where he could see everyone and still see outside. Lucia laid her head on the stone floor and sighed. She hated being cooped up, she wanted to be out there, running around.

Beleram nodded and shuffled his position again. He could sense the boredom coming off of the three that accompanied him. Sighing, he leaned against a large rock that was in the shelter and blinked slowly. He considered sleeping again but for some reason he couldn't at the moments. He turned his focus to the filly, contently making music with her tail, which he found amusing but he didn't show his emotion since he was so drowsy. Beleram twitched his ear when an itch rose from it and snorted.
