GrassSnake sat guard outside of the camp for the night. He sighed as he soaked in his surroundings. It was a nice night- the air had a chilling nip to it compared to how hot the days had recently been.
A shadow moved across his vision, and GrassSnake was immediately on edge. Was there a fox at the camp?
He began to turn around to run back into the camp walls when he heard a cats voice. “GrassSnake! Hey, I need your help, but please don’t wake the camp! There’s no need to worry them.”
GrassSnake paused and looked at the cat. “What do you need?” His eyes still darted around, unsure if this cat was what he had seen a few moments ago in the darkness.
“Come with me, I found some lone kits out by the Thunderpath border and we need to save them! There’s only two so I was just hoping you could help.”
GrassSnake felt slightly confused as questions reeled through his mind. Why had they been by the Thunderpath border without a patrol, what kind of cat would leave their kits there, why didn’t they bring at least one back... But, as for the warrior code, these questions amounted to nothing if it meant the kits could be saved.
“Okay, okay, lead me to them.” GrassSnake felt slightly anxious, and he wasn’t sure if it was because of the Thunderpath or because he was leaving his post.
When the two cats could finally just barely see the Thunderpath, the cat leading GrassSnake stopped. “They’re over here, come on.” They paused. “Oh, and thank you for helping me. I know you’re part of RiverClan now, but I’m still surprised a rogue would care so much about our code.”
GrassSnake kept his tongue rather than vehemently defending his honor. He had been harassed for this plenty of times before- now should be no different he supposed.
He stepped toward the very edge of the black rock that covered the ground. “Where are the-”
The killer pushed GrassSnake into the Thunderpath, which made him panic for a quick moment. He looked around in shock, but saw no Monsters before it was too late.
The killer smiled as they trotted back to camp. RiverClan didn’t need rogues, it just wasn’t the way things had to be. Luckily the monster was driving with its eyes shut, so it’s glowing eyes hadn’t given itself away.
The cat smugly began to make their way back to camp before slipping into bed knowing they had helped cleanse the Clan of a dirty rogue tainting their code.

RiverClan! Your guard is gone before he could even try to save himself, or others! Time to find the killer!

bramblestorm - she-cat - deputy - no tags

As seeing that her deputy duties called for this, Bramblestorm woke at the peak of dawn. She yawned and glanced around the camp. There was no chatter- aside from the birds overhead -to be heard, which immediately set the she-cat into a bad vibe. She needed cats for her morning patrol, and yet no one was around. Turning around, she walked back into the warriors' den to get Grasssnake and one other cat. To her dismay, she found that Grasssnake was missing from the lot. This furthered her aggravated nerves. Deciding to wake the cats, she loudly asked, "Has anyone got an idea where Grasssnake has gone? He was supposed to patrol with me."

Owlstar awoke, his eyes blinking away sleep. He stretched his legs, letting out a short yawn before stepping outside. The dawn light felt warm on his short pelt, and he paused a moment to let it warm him up. Hearing Bramblestorm's mew, he turned his attention towards the deputy.
"He was on guard last night. He isn't in the warriors den?" The look on Bramblestorm's face answered his question for him.
"I doubt he would leave his post unattended. And if he isn't in the den, then something must be wrong." His tail curled slightly, feeling worried for the tom. "Take the dawn patrol to look for him, as soon as you can."

Willowkit woke up in her nest with a slight shiver. Since she was able to feed herself, her mom hadn't hesitated to resume her deputy duties, which left the kit often waking up from the chill. She clenched her eyes shut more, trying to get more sleep. Alas, the crushing silence kept the kit from resuming her sleep. after tossing and turning for several minutes, she gave up and sat up. Willowkit peeked slightly out of the nursery, as soon as she did, she heard the leaders final words. She liked owl star, he was okay. Padding over she quietly said "look for who..?" Her ear flicking in excitement
