OakClanTigerblaze blinked slowly at Swiftbadger, no emotion evident in his eyes, although his whiskers twitched a bit suspiciously. Why was Swiftbadger saying all of this to him? He expected that any EagleClan cats who had witnessed his spat with Mistflower would have sided with her, not come to him to tell him that he was right. Either Swiftbadger felt sorry for him, which was unlikely, or had some sort of issue with Mistflower and wanted to 'bond' over it--or there was something else going on. Had Mistflower set him up to the task for some reason? Had she gotten her clanmate to talk to him in order to try and get something more out of him? Well, he had nothing more to offer. "That choice was hers to make," he said at last. "She had every right to make it, but I will never support it. Her mistake is trying to make me."
If Splashpaw noticed that Quiverpaw hadn't put the pieces together at first, she didn't seem to show it or care. "Yeah, hopefully by next moon," she said with a smile. "I'll miss my fellow apprentices," she flicked her tail at Jackdawpaw, Ivypaw, and Bearpaw, "but I'm excited to sleep in the warriors' den."
EagleClanWith seemingly no other news to share, Southstar went on. "It seems tonight's gathering has come to a close. We're fortunate to have had only good news to share this moon, and I pray the same will be true for many moons to come. Until next moon, may StarClan light your paths." Dipping his head to the cats of both clans and then to Blizzardclaw, he leapt down from his branch.
Littleflower nodded and gave her friend a comforting lick. "I'm glad you're in EagleClan, too," she told her with a smile. She looked up to Southstar and Blizzardclaw, a bit surprised that the gathering had ended almost as quickly as it had begun.
I guess things have been pretty uneventful, she thought, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
Darkpaw's ears perked slightly when Blizzardclaw announced their new apprentice, Bearpaw, and he turned to glance at the apprentice next to him. I guess she really is just right out of the nursery, he thought. He felt it would be awkward to chant her name when he was right next to her, so instead he simply said when the cheers died down, "Congratulations."
