Beleram shook his coat bored. He didn't find much amusement in hearing and watching her movements towards nature, but of course he would be polite and tolerate her, perhaps she would grow on him and they could be friends eventually. Beleram sighed, lowering his head then looked up at her when she complimented him, ''Thank you..'' he mustered out flicking his ears not knowing what else to speak of. His mind dazed off when the colt turned his vision to stare at the river he was at only a hour ago. A muffled snort escaped his muzzle which brought him back to reality. ''Would you like me to help you find your parents again?'' he asked, straightening his stance and looking at her unsuringly and curiously

"That would be very appreciated." She said, dipping her head in a bow. "You seem to know a lot about this forest. Aren't you afraid of the predators?" She asked, concern flickering in her eyes. She walked up to the bigger colt and shivered slightly at the mention of predators.

Beleram froze when she stepped closer but relaxed his stance a second later. He stared down at the filly, ''The truth is, yes I do know a lot. But I don't know everything.. Predators can sense fear.. anyways, what is the sense of living if you're frightened half the time?'' he asked, a very faint smile broke his strict expression. Beleram broke his gaze and looked around at their surroundings. ''So.. any clue which direction your parents are Nizhoni?'' he asked softly, quietly stepping away to walk a few paces in the direction foreward. The yearling halted shortly afterwards, unsure if it was the right path. He looked over his shoulder, flicking his tail once sharply. ''Well..??'' he stammered, a little impatient.

"Well, I did pass a stream on my way here, and where the meadow is, there is a river that flows through it." She said as she halted, nearly running into him. She quivered slightly when she caught the faint scent of a mountain lion, but didn't think it was close by. "Are there mountain lions around here?" She asked softly as she looked over her shoulder.

Meanwhile, in the meadow...
"Hmm....oh this will do nicely!" Lucia said as she tore a large branch off a tree. She drug it back and placed it over a giant mud puddle, disguising it. She smirked and then called for her mate." Hey Shaman! Come look what I found!"

"I don't really care, Lucia. Have you seen Nizhoni lately?" The Medicine Hat stallion asked as he eyed the branch warily. He had a feeling that his absentminded mate ha let their only daughter wander off again. "Why does she have to take after you in sense of direction?" He said as he began to look for their daughter.

Beleram looked down at her, her frightened expression bothered him greatly, which only make him more empathetic. ''Yes, they live around here. We should be safe though, they never hunt unless they are desperately hungry.'' he spoke, lifting his muzzle up to scent the air. He flicked an ear back, hearing her speak of a river. Could it be the same river he was at hours ago? Surely it must be. ''Alright. I think I know the way to go. Follow me.'' he mumbled, trotting towards the river. Beleram snaked around the tree trunks, looking over his shoulder every few moments to make sure Nizhoni was following him. He halted by the river when his front hooves were inmursed in the cold water. ''Beyond this is the meadow and stream I believe you were speaking of.'' Beleram said quietly, treading foreward through the river. He halted on the other side, holding his tail up high so it's damp plume could drip free of excess droplets.

Nizhoni followed him through the stream an was about to step out onto the other bank when she let out a yelp and jumped. She scrambled onto the bank, holding one of her back hooves off the ground, a trickle of blood flowed down where something ha bitten her. She quivered."what happened? All I did was step on a rock! Why did it bite me?" She asked, confused and trembling. She didn't understand about snapping turtles, which was what had bitten her. She stood there, staring at the water.

Beleram looked down at her leg. ''What happened?'' he asked concerned. He lowered his head so he was eyelevel with her small wound. ''Oh, it's nothing bad. Just the turtles nipping again.'' Beleram raised his head and shrugged slightly. ''Nothing to be worried about. It'll stop bleeding soon.'' Beleram walked to the water and collected some in his mouth, then walked over to her again and spat it out on her leg. ''The water will help clean it and provide a thin layer so it doesn't drip on the ground and attract predators.'' he spoke brightly for no reason the walked foreward again. ''Off again, although I hope you know I'm leaving as soon as your reunited with your folks again.'' Beleram said, turning his head slightly to look at her when he spoke. He didn't bother telling her why he was going to depart afterwards, he didn't want to really touch up on the topic anyways.
Soon they had come to the meadow, which stretched out largely in front of them. A slight breeze carried the faint scent of other equids whom were located somewhere on the mountain meadow; the familar scent was refreshing yet sickening to him, since it brought back good and bad memories of his past. Beleram halted and craned his neck towards Nizhoni, then glanced down at her leg. ''We're almost there.. I expect your parents are looking for you too, so they will most likely meet up with us on the way..... Do you need help to walk? I can support you, you know.'' he announced, retracing his steps to stand by her side.

Nizhoni wince when she placed her hoof on the ground, but stood it. " thanks for your help. It means a lot. Most other foals don't really come around me cause they say I'm to scatterbrained. You're the first who has actually been a friend to me, and I thank you from my heart. I do wish you would stay once we find my parents though, I know they would love you...if you could stand my mothers pranks on my father..." She said softly, with a slight chuckle at the thought of her mothers last prank, which had ended up with feathers stuck to a very muddy Shaman.

Beleram glanced at her when she thanked him, ''No problem. Helping and doing good deeds brings good karma. Something I ought to stock up on.'' he murmured. Beleram lowered his head when she spoke of her parents loving him, he was about to object but felt as if it would do no good even if he did protest. ''I can't promise anything Nizhoni.'' he said quietly, focusing on helping her. He glanced up; the stream they were headed to was only a couple hundred feet away, and then they should find her parents easily. Beleram wrapped his tail around her rump, so it supported her from her other side too. ''Come on, we are so so close.'' he said tiredly, sighing softly afterwards. He bobbed his head softly with each stride they took, looking ahead.

Nizhoni blushed when Beleram walked closer to her. She didn't know why though. "Thank you." Was all she could say as they walked to the meadow. She perked her ears as she heard hoofbeats and looked up to see her mother skidding to a halt. She also saw her father, who was completely covered in sticky, brown mud."um..." She said as she looke back to Beleram and her parents. "This is Beleram...he helped me."

Shaman shook mud from his pelt, a disgusted look on his face. You see, his coat was almost pure white, and he hates mud. He perked his ears as he walked over to his mate an daughter and this new colt. "Thank you for bringing her back."

Lucia nodded and smiled.
