Falconpaw

Falconpaw was off the side of camp, dozing. She was bored, she hated basically everyone here, the Stoneclan cats all seemed busy, and she didn't feel like hunting for a group of cats she cared little for. Of course, she could have wandered off like a few others, but she would later regret that when they start moving again. Better to sleep now then when your paws feel as if they're about to fall off. She let out a soft sigh as she let her mind wander, it was a shame that Eaglestar was the only leader to live. Her mentor, Foxstar, was a much cooler and better leader than that pitiful she-cat could ever be. Her thoughts were forcefully broken into by a load thud and Pineclaw's soft groan. "What do you think you're doing, idiot!" She growled reflexively, her fur standing on end as she glared at her former deputy. She was obviously spooked. Who wouldn't be if they were waking up to a loud slam. She looked down apologetically, allowing her fur to lay flat and sitting up just to give her chest fur a few embarrassed licks. She didn't know it was Pineclaw until she had glared at him, Foxstar would surely give her an earful for disrespecting the deputy. She's going to have a lot to lecture me for once I get to Starcan. She watched as he continued to slam on the wood until it caved it. She wanted to go over there and reck it some more, but then he started asking for help. She froze, slowly backing away. I really hope he didn't see me! Normally, she wouldn't volunteer, but she wouldn't try to hide either. But this isn't a normal case. These were kittens of the enemy, cats of a clan she has been taught to hate. There was no way she'd help, even if Starclan said it was her destiny.

((I hope you don't mind that I have Falconpaw's old mentor as Foxstar ^^'))

(I don't mind. ^^)

"Nobody?" called Pineclaw, narrowing his eyes. He scanned the camp; most were gone, on patrol or hunting. There was some activity near the medicine cat's den, but he was sure they were already doing something important. He would have to look elsewhere. In the shadows, he spotted a familiar pair of orange eyes. Foxstar's apprentice, he thought with a pang. He ignored it. "Falconpaw!" he called. "You're not busy, are you?" It wasn't really a question; he'd spotted her lying around earlier.

Raccoonstrike lifted his head, flicking his tongue over his jaws. He had been giving himself a thorough washing, as he tended to forget to give himself one often. He didn't care much for how neat he looked, but knew he had to clean himself sometime or he'd become quite a mess. The young tom blinked at Appleleaf, preparing to speak when a loud voice distracted him. It was Pineclaw speaking, one of the former StoneClan cats. The deputy, actually, if Raccoonstrike recalled correctly. Apparently help was needed; and of course Raccoonstrike was obliged to help, even with his injury. He glanced swiftly at the medicine cat. "You don't mind, do you?" He asked her, nodding towards the stump and the large tom. "We can always go for a walk later." he added quickly, ducking his head and twitching the tip of his thick tail.

"It's fine." She smiled at Raccoonstrike. "Pineclaw, if you need any more help I've nothing to do right now." Appleleaf offered herself to help.

It was as though he read the apprentice's mind, "I can't wait for the herb gathering days to be safer either." he meowed.

(Sorry for the short post... I forgot what they were doing XD)

Pineclaw looked over at the two cats. A warrior and a medicine cat, neither from his clan. Then again, the kits weren't from his clan, either. "Right," nodded Pineclaw, his time as a deputy coming to the surface. "So, Hollyclaw's kits are cold. We can't have that, so I'm building a temporary nursery for them." he waved his tail towards the stump. He looked them over. They'd both been involved in the eagle attack earlier, and their wounds showed. Not bad enough to keep them from helping, but he knew a bit about medicine. Foxstar had been of the opinion that everyone should know the basics of healing, even if only the medicine cats could spend the time to specialize in it. Pineclaw had learned enough not to ask them to clean out the stump; it was a dirty job, and cuts could easily get infected. So. "I need materials for a nest." he said. "Moss, feathers, fur; whatever you can find. Can you two do that?"

"Sure can Pinefang." Applelead waited for Raccoonstrike so they could go gather nest materials. "Shall we go?" She asked.

Spotting Redfern on their way, "Hi Redleaf." She greeted the tom. "I'm sorry I left before, I needed to talk to a friend." She said "I just needed some clarity. I know your a great cat with lots of love to give to some cat. That cat just isn't me. I worked so hard for this, for my clan I can;t just give up for love Redfern. Being the medicine cat is everything I've always wanted but unfortuantely, my destiny doesn't include having love." She looked into Redfern's very apologetically before she moved on again.

The mottled tom stood and padded slowly towards Pineclaw. He had been curious as to what he had been doing with that old stump, banging around and clawing at the old wood. He halted next to Appleleaf and listened curiously to the large tabby tom's instructions. "Of course." he agreed, nodding his head. He looked to the medicine cat. "Lead the way." he mewed, swishing his tail as he prepared to follow her on their mission.

"My name's not..." began Pineclaw, trailing off as he realized she had already left, the dark-furred warrior following her. He shook his head, turning to look at the stump again. He looked over to where he'd seen Falconpaw. Was the apprentice coming? He couldn't see her. She had heard him, hadn't she? Had she run off? He sighed, turning back to the stump. He ducked inside and began digging out the loose dirt and debris himself. His claws would be a mess when this was done, he thought irritably. Still, he kept digging. He'd always preferred hard work to sitting around.
