(( Thank goodness Livius is so laid-back about everything!

I'd hate for him to get into a spat with Halo.

The sounds of battle disturbed his peaceful meandering through his territory high above and the grullo stallion glanced back over his shoulder in surprise. With his curiosity getting the better of him, he turned and quickly cantered down the steep path downwards towards the river below. If his ears didn't betray him, it sounded like both humans AND Equids involved in this fiasco. It took a few minutes for him to arrive at the edges of the conflict and he took a few steps back into the snow-covered shadows of an overhang as his iris-purple eyes surveyed the group.
Oh my gosh! Humans here?! But wait, that's the Snow Cap Herd! Throwing caution to the wind, he made his way carefully down, mane fully erect and teeth bared at the moaning humans strewn about. It seemed that the herd had things under control. It appeared that one stallion still had a rope hanging about his neck and that many Equids were involved, including the lead stallion Canad. He assumed that the rest of the herd was down below still.
"Canad!" He called, pausing beyond the reach of any human hand or rope. He held his head and mane high, his tail neutrally. It wouldn't do to enrage the lead stallion further by intruding during such a delicate situation. Maybe the stallion would remember how they had spoken briefly so long ago?
"Canad, is everyone alright?" As he awaited the lead stallion's reply, he observed the other Equids. The stallion with the rope about his neck was a brown chestnut. The mare, however, was stunningly patterned with black stripes over her white coat. His eyes widened. He would bet lunch that she had been one of the targets of the humans.
