Jake/ Pack One

Jake trotted along, his ears perked as he looked around at the dead city. Things had been so different for the past few weeks for him, ever since escaping the house. He paused, one paw held above the ground as he continued his perusal, snout quivering. Meat... Lowering his body closer to the ground, the Jack Russell crept forward, following the mouthwatering scent. Soon he came across an old butcher shop, filled with meats and bones. His short tail wagged fiercely as he stepped inside, looking around. Although the scent was strong in here, not all of the meat had gone bad yet, and was still safe to eat. Happily he began tearing into the carcass of a cow that had fallen off of its hook.

The cold wind pierces straight through Ram's very thin coat and he happily ducks behind the dumpster with Serena. He nudges her with his nose affectionately. "I know my responsibilities, Serena." He says, his voice making it blatantly obvious that he is being sarcastic. Ram stands close to her, sharing a bit of her warmth without actually getting too close to seem disrespectful. After all, he is not an alpha, even though there have not been any other males really up to par to challenge him for such a position. Ram simply doesn't act like one. He follows her orders pretty much unquestioningly, because they make sense. He sees no reason to come up with counter ideas and quarrel with a dog he respects. "Besides, those jokers know better than to question me on this. I'll eat her myself before they would ever have a chance." Ram chides Serena, remembering how surprised they were the first time Ram corrected them. He might have a slight build, but Ram still has an enormous bark.

Ram looks over to the little dog when she barks and chuckles to himself when he sees her skid out in the street. Well, at least someone is able to enjoy this cold weather. He thinks before calling to her: "Paris, this way! Come in out of the cold before you get sick." He says, his amusement still hovering in his voice.

Allowing a small whuff of laughter out, she followed his gaze and watched Paris tumbling around. "You'd better get over here, pup. The wind may end up blowing you into the nearest building, and trust me, it hurts." She winced, remembering the time when a tornado-level wind that slammed her into the wall of the barn, and the pain that had remained with her for months afterwards. "Fair enough," she barked, this time to Ram. "If you run into any serious problems, send for me. I don't trust the rest of the pack at this point; at least, not with a pet dog pup." Bracing herself, she strode back into the wind and headed off to the den, ready to wake any late sleepers inside.

Ram nods to Serena, agreeing with her. The pack was still young and volatile, the members sometimes unpredictable. He stands for few moments behind the dumpster after Serena heads back out in the wind. He is not really ready to go back and face the cold, so he decides to wait for Paris so that he can prep her before leading her back to the pack.

Sliding under the porch, Serena saw, to her satisfaction, that the entire pack was out on the streets. A careful prodding through every single corner confirmed this, and she flopped down in her spot contentedly. Hopefully, the other packs would leave hers alone; trying to keep the dogs together was like forcing a fish to swim to land, and she didn't want any extra stress on herself at that point.

Ram stands for a few moments, watching the pup from the lee of the dumpster as another gust of wind rattles the old metal container. A few moments later, the world darkens a little bit, as clouds begin to pass by the now late morning sun. Ram looks back over his shoulder at the sky and the swirling dark grey clouds. Looks like the wind blew in something more than the cold. He thinks, his mood darkening slightly with the sky. Ram knows very well that the cold and snow is not his friend and he wishes desperately for even something so light as the racing silks he used to wear to keep the wet off his back. You're a fool, Ram. He chastises himeslf. Even if you had them, you'd never get them on without a human around to do up the fasteners. He sighs and looks back down at the little dog.

History:Asaki was a sled dog in alaska.When the plague began to spread asaki's owner moved to Montana to avoid it.Taking her favorite dog,Asaki,with her she lived out in a one story house at the city.Soon the plague reached there soon,and no place was safe for humans.Asaki was swimming in the yard's pond when she sensed something wrong.As she entered the house she saw the cold,stiff body of her owner.Unable to bear the truth,she ran historically out onto the lonely streets.She then wandered off into to the unknown..
